If you have a web site that’s not pulling in prospects and sales, I have a marketing secret to share with you. Your sales and profits will increase as soon as you apply it. Whether you’re marketing on the web, in print or in person, you are guaranteed to improve your web site marketing and make more sales.

Here it is; people buy from you when you give them what they want. Sounds obvious, but most people don’t apply this secret to their online and offline marketing.

Many people think that the quickest way to improve their web site marketing and increase sales is to convince or ’sell’ more prospects. Trying to convince people to buy your products and services is hard, not much fun and rarely works. In fact, this approach repels the majority of people who may actually want the products and services you provide.

Your prospects are like you; they want and need to buy services and products, but hardly anyone wants to ‘be sold’. When a prospect reads your brochure or visits your web site, they are thinking about their needs and desires. Once you focus your marketing on giving your prospects what they want, you’ll see a leap in responses and in sales.

Think about your products and services. Why do people want them? What’s the first and most important concern your prospects have? What are their secondary concerns? Can you help them solve each of these problems and get what they want?

Look at your ads, brochures, or website. Ask yourself the same questions prospects ask themselves when they view your web site marketing materials;

- What is in it for me?

- Does the first sentence give me a reason to keep reading?

- Does the photo make me believe this firm has what I want?

What is the most prominent element on the home page of your web site or the cover of your brochure? In most cases, it will be your company’s name. Does your company name describe your prospects’ biggest concern? Does it give them a reason to believe you have what they want?

Imagine you wanted to open a new bank account in your hometown. On Main Street you see two banks with large signs in the windows.

Bank A’s sign says – AMERICA’S FINEST SINCE 1950

Bank B’s sign says – HIGH YIELD SAVINGS, IMMEDIATE ONLINE ACCESS

Which one would you choose? Bank B grabs your attention by talking about the services and results that meet your needs.
They’ve made the sale.

There are dozens of reasons people buy. You may hire a business coach to help you make more money, a personal trainer to become a better golfer or tennis player. You may buy a new computer to increase your company’s productivity or a high definition TV to give yourself greater viewing enjoyment. Identify the reasons people buy your products and services and it’s like finding the key to sales.

What’s the biggest secret to attracting all the clients you want?

Stop trying to convince your prospects to buy and instead focus on giving them what they want. Once they see you as helping them, they’ll help you by buying your products and services.

If you like working with other people’s money, then maybe day trading for a living is what you should be doing. This type of trading works daytime hours only, from the moment the stock market opens at 9am until it closes at 4pm in the afternoon, you can do a lot of trading in that amount of time. Or maybe you want to do day trading for livings with your own money, that way if you loose it, then you have no one to blame but yourself. However, it may be a good way to watch your money grow too. The following is the basic definition of what day trading is all about. Maybe it is your cup of tea, maybe not, only you can decide.

What is Day Trading?

Day trading for a living is when you take a position in the markets with a view of squaring that position before the end of that day. Day trading for a living mean a trader usually trades many times a day looking for fractions of a point to a few points per trade, however, by the end of the day he or she will close out all their positions. The goal of the day is to capitalize on price movement within one trading day. Unlike investors, the day trader will hold positions for only a few seconds or minutes, and never overnight.

What day trading really means.

The meaning of day trading is actually a misunderstood term. True day trading means not holding on to your stock positions beyond the current trading day, meaning your not suppose to hold on to your stock overnight. Trading this way is really the safest way to do day trading, this way one is not exposed to the potential losses that can happen if the stock marked is closed due to news that can affect the prices of your stocks. There are many people out there today who are not very good “day traders,” they are actually more like con artists just out to take your money. Because of greed, they will hold your stock overnight, setting themselves up for the catastrophic elimination of their capital. In day trading currency, the term “day trading” changes slightly. Because currencies can be traded 24-hours a day, there can’t’ really be any overnight trading. You can have open positions for longer than a day with active stop losses than can be activated at any time.

There are a few different types of day traders out there today, it can actually be subdivided into a number of styles.

Scalpers- This type of day trading involves the rapid and repeated buying and selling of a large amount of stocks within minutes or seconds. The goal here is to earn a small per share profit on each transaction while minimizing the risk.

Momentum Traders- This style of day trading involves identifying and trading stocks that are in a moving pattern during the day, in an attempt to buy such stocks at bottoms and sell at tops.

The advantages of day trading for a living is there are no overnight risks. Because positions are closed prior to the end of the trading day, news and events that affect the next trading day’s opening prices do not affect your client’s portfolio. Day trading for a living has a greater leverage on your client’s capital because of the low margin requirements as their trades are closed in the same market day. This increased leverage can increase your client’s profits if used wisely.

At the time I created my web site, I was looking for that one special person that would read something on my site or in my books or articles and become inspired. I was thinking it would move them forward to write or do something really great that would raise peoples consciousness and bring awareness into their lives. It was and still is my hope that I will inspire someone to do great things.

Often I do things with hopes that it will change the world for the better. I have had the thought that people would read my articles and become motivated to do something with their lives and we would all have a sudden shift in right consciousness. I have had many good responses to my site and the articles as can be evidenced in my guest book and letters that I have received. It has been very gratifying to say the least.

My site has attracted many visitors. Some would say that I am successful, and I have accomplished what I set out to do and that was to touch the lives of many people. I am still waiting for that one special person. I have been looking for him/her in my emails and in my guest book and all around me. I have been searching everywhere, out there.

The truth is, that person is much closer than I may now realize.

I have said many times, that I write for myself first, it gives me the opportunity to express in words, what I know intuitively . And by doing so, I achieve awareness and enlightenment. That one special person is myself. The one I have been waiting for is typing this article. He has been there through all of the articles. He is always visiting my site and supporting it. From the position of the silent observer, I can seen where he has come from and where he is now. And it has been truly, an amazing ride.

Still, there is much before me. I still want to inspire this “one,” to do amazing things. I am not at the point yet, where my ego is satisfied that it is me that will do it. I keep looking outward for another. I think, I really want it to be someone else. Although my interest in the site is on and off, I will keep the site maintained and updated while I believe others are still benefiting. September has been a disastrous month for visitors. I have not radically changed anything, and I know the writing is getting better. So where did all the visitors go?

Have I found that person? Is it now time to move onto something bigger and better? How do I measure that? I know that it will come to me as a revelation, it always does and I am still waiting. I love the writing, I know that it will continue. If I am not drawing the numbers to me, than does that mean that I don’t need to anymore? Is my work done? I am wrestling with these thoughts lately. I know other spiritual writers and webmasters, that have come this far, are also questioning what they are doing. We are ready for the next step, and it is the momentum of working on our sites for so long that is keeping us going.

When one has a need or desire to help others, one draws people who need help, to them. When one has a need or desire to give, then one draws people to them that are in need of receiving. When one has a need to write, teach and inform, then one draws people to them that are in need of being informed. It is the way of the universe to make these things happen. When the student is ready, the teacher will come. When the need disappears, then the needy no longer come.

Have I gone full circle? Have I found that one special person? Have I prepared him for the next step? Are there others, or is it that I have been doing this all for me? Is it only me that has gone full circle. When one moves to the next step, only then can he/she look back at the last one. Every step is followed by another and it continuous.

In truth, there is only one consciousness, one soul that is individualized in countless manifestations of itself. So, it is “I” that does things for self. “I,” “I am,” doing all this for self, there is no other. I have been here before and will return many times. Once again, I am chasing my tail. There is nowhere to come from and nowhere to go. I look at you and “I” see “I.” You, the reader are also the writer. We are the same. There is only one of us. “I am,” writing for the one that reads and the one that writes.

Know always that your are doing for self, no one else. They do not exist. Wherever it is that you think you are going, you can not get there. I look around me and see myself in various stages of getting there.

If there was a life’s lesson, it would be that it is the trip that counts, not getting anywhere.

Is Dad hard to buy Christmas gifts for? If adults have difficulty choosing holiday gifts for men, think of the problem it is for children. Here are four possibilities.

Fire Starters for Dad

Most dads have either a fireplace or barbeque and can use fire starters. Have the child pick up pine cones at the park or anywhere there are pine trees. Let them dry out. You can decorate them with a little glitter if you wish. Pile them up in an attractive basket or bucket, add a big ribbon and the gift is ready. It’s also inexpensive!

If pine cones are not available, twigs will work fine for fire starters. Gather them in sheaves and tie them with ribbon. Stand them up in a basket or bucket. Add a big ribbon to the handle.

A third type of fire starter is made with adult help. Save up your cardboard egg cartons. Cut off the tops and recycle them. Get some cotton twine and thread it through the bottom of each section of the egg carton, tying a knot underneath so it does not pull through. Cut the twine at the height of the egg carton plus one inch. This is the wick. Melt paraffin (adults only) and pour it into each section, very carefully. Keep the wick upright. Sprinkle a little glitter on top. Let dry. When dad needs a fire starter, he cuts one or two sections, puts them in the fireplace under the wood and lights them.

Bird Feeders: A Project for Dad and His Kid To Share at Christmas

This gift is a project for Dad and his kid to do together. The Christmas gift for Dad is the materials for the bird feeders. You need: a few pine cones, the larger, the better. Yarn, a scissors, two butter knives, a jar of peanut butter, and bird seed are also needed. Decorate a box big enough to hold everything, with a lid. Put everything in the box, cover, and add a ribbon.

When Dad is ready to help his kid with the project, they use the butter knives to spread peanut butter on the tips of the pine cone sections. Sprinkle bird seed on top of the peanut butter. Use the scissors to cut the yarn and tie it to the pine cone to make a hanger. Hang your bird feeders outdoors.

These simple Christmas gifts for Dad should help solve the problem of what to buy him for Christmas!

Since you’re reading this article, you probably know what an autoresponder is, but aren’t quite sure what all the fuss is about. If you aren’t sure what an autoresponder is, well in short it’s a way to automatically email your prospective customers with a personal message in order to increase your sales.

So, in short, what are the benefits?

  • You can grow your list of prospective customers and send each of them a personalised Email.
  • You can then follow up each of these emails with repeat personalised emails, with varied content, at later dates.
  • You can track your conversions
  • You can send out broadcast emails to all your current prospects whenever you have a new product.
  • You could even setup another set of emails to go out to your existing clients to tempt them back for your new offering

Why send a personalised Email?

You could just mail all the people you have using one email you send from your desktop. This would be quick, easy, and controlled - just set them all up in an email group. So why not use this simple method?

Well its all to do with converting leads into sales. Put simply, research shows that if you address the prospective customer by name then the person is six times more likely to take notice of the email and follow through to your site.

So why don’t most people do this? The answer is simple – effort. Imagine having to email all your prospects, by name. This becomes an insane task, even with only a few hundred prospects.

Autoresponders work by allowing you to setup a template email, where you put in a “placeholder” or “substitution variable” where you want the actual name to go.

So why send multiple emails?

Statistics vary but it’s generally agreed that 80% of people will only buy after they have been sent between 5 and 7 emails.

This is where an autoresponder really scores. It can automatically do all this for you, without you having to do anything beyond setup the 5 emails in the first place.

I setup my autoresponder, get my customer, sell my product. Isn’t that job done now?

Absolutely not. A 5% increase in retention yields profit increases of 25 to 100 percent (source: Bain and Co.)

Lets say only one in twenty of your customers decides to join your mailing list. That’s great news for you - you’ve just got yourself an opportunity to sell again. Statistics show that with just one in twenty taking up your offer, you can almost double your revenue.

Furthermore, now you’ve got them hooked, you can sell them more different products. Remember, the cost of acquiring a new customer can be as much as 5 times the cost of keeping an old one, and with your autoresponder system you should have just boosted your customer base.

The author, Vince Lewis, is an experienced professional of 15 years, and has worked with many UK blue chip companies. He recommends ansa-me.com’s automatic responder system for ease of use, functionality and customer support.

Pester Power - Are we raising ‘wanting machines’?

Ok so it’s coming up to Christmas and despite our every effort
to the darling teenagers in our lives, this time of year has
turned into nothing more than a shop front.

I have to say, I was shopping the other day with my 7-year-old
and we saw a Bratz House. We looked at it and I was astonished
at a price tag or £189. I could not believe it, for a plastic
house! This was great as it allowed for us to have a
conversation about money, however my heart went out as I know
that many Parents will be pestered and pestered for that house
and Parents all over the country will give in to make their
children happy. The power of advertising!

What has happened, we appear to have created a group of Parents
who cannot say no. Parents seem unwilling to set limits or draw
the line anywhere. Is it that they feel more guilty as so many
of them are working such long hours, is it that our kids have
just got better at asking, or is it that the advertising is just
so good that we just cannot say no?

Whatever the reason, I have to say that I am concerned that we
are raising a generation who are ‘wanting machines’, who respond
to the marketing aimed right at them. They are growing up with a
distorted sense of entitlement and we risk the next generation
becoming self-centred and self-absorbed and growing up into
adults that simply do not care.

And the figures are staggering.

According to market research, Families of 3-12 year olds now
spend $53.8 Billion annually on entertainment, personal care
items and reading material, $17.6 billion more that 1997.

And there is another worrying thought, does over-indulgence have
a bad effect on school performance and relationships? Kids who
get their own way most of the time are very demanding and much
less likely to be able to form long-lasting, sustainable
relationships with people.

So what do we do?

1.Get clear what you want as a Parent

Most of us are so clear about trying to please our children and
give them what they want that we forget about what we want. And
I don’t mean material things, I mean what you want out of life -
what do you want as a Parent, what is your purpose for being a
Parent. Now it may be that your purpose is to give your children
absolutely everything they want and if that is the case, you are
on course. If however, like me, your purpose is to raise a
responsible and independant young adult who is caring and
compassionate, what you are doing may be against where you
really want to be.

So next time they say, “Mum can I have……?” check in with
what you want as a Parent and see if it fits.

2.Set a limit

I know it may seem obvious, but most Parents don’t do it. Set a
limit you are willing to spend on your child and let them know.
Tell them that you want to feel good about Christmas too and
that you are only willing to spend this much because Christmas
is about so much more. Be very clear that no matter what, you
will not go over that limit.

3.What do they really think it will give them?

If they still continue to pester and pester, ask this question,
“What do you think having that will give you?” I know you may
stump them, but they will answer and if they don’t know, then
why do they want it in the first place? When they tell you what
they think having that thing will give them, ask them how they
can get more of that into their lives now. When we do this we
realise that actually we did not want the thing, but only the
quality we thought the thing would give us.

4.Encourage entrepreneurism

Now this one will really stop them, if they continue to ask, say
that you are not prepared to pay for it and ask how you can
support them in getting it. Now first they may turn to all the
illegal things and they may need some prompting. You may need to
ask how they can get the money; encourage their creativity.
Maybe they will sell things on E-bay, train others how to use
Excel or build websites for others.

5.Giving vs. receiving

I play this game all the time with my 7-year-old. I teach her
about giving and receiving and how they fit together. How, if
you want to let something into your life, you need to let go of
something in return. So when she asks for something, I ask what
she wants to give in return. Now I don’t do this to be mean or
have her think about lack, I have it to open her up to the fact
that money moves - it is not stagnant. I want her to understand
the concept of giving and not just that of receiving. I can tell
you, it has an amazing effect, She often changes her mind, she
realises that she does not want it that much so she leaves it.
When she wrote her Christmas list this year, the first thing
that she asked for was something for someone else. So use this
concept, start a system of giving versus receiving. They may not
respond at first. but keep trying it. Use it yourself first,
start showing your child how you yourself incorporate it.

So this Christmas make a stand, decide that you are going to
raise a responsible independent young adult who cares about
others and is not just a ‘wanting machine’.

In the face of Gnosticism, which so spiritualized God into an abstract Deity detached from the world, John strongly presented the Christian doctrine of the God who created and is very much present in the world He created. John seems to go to great lengths to emphasize the pre-existence of and the real humanity of Jesus Christ.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete. 1 John 1:1-4.

James Holden notes in The Johnannine Epistles that John makes a series “of references to the Last Days, the Day of Judgement, and the coming resurrection of the believer, which are all anti-Gnostic in tendency and are at the center of his mind and a prime reason for the urgency of his attack on the heretics. The emergence of false teaching was such a desperate threat that it ignited a furious Christian conviction.”

The Johannine Epistles seem to be part of an intentional campaign to halt those who would depreciate the Johannine tradition of Christian teaching through Gnosticism. The defense of the reality of the human Jesus as the way to God and the nature of the moral struggle were two causes which were absolutely critical to defend. It was also crucial to insist, as John did, that the two could in no way be separated.

The negative assertion of the Epistles clearly shows that the heretics claim to belong to the Christian congregation were unjustified. John rigidly opposes the Gnostics who were within the Christian community and claimed to represent the “genuine” Christian faith.

The Johnannine Epistles strikes at the core of the Gnostic system that denied God as world creator and rejected, as Bultmann so adequately put it, “the Christian idea of revelation namely, the paradox that a historical event (or historical form) in the eschatological event (or form) is grounded in the historical fact that Jesus Christ has come. The Gnosticizing false teachers deny precisely that Jesus has come in the flesh.”

No one can read John’s Epistles and not “feel” his hard blows against the Gnostic idea that certain conditions have to be met in order for man to be able to come to the knowledge of God and subsequently, procure a “direct vision.” John does not bite his tongue in succinctly pointing out that knowledge of God is not a theoretical or speculative knowledge, but is rather a relationship with God, in which the one knowing is validated in his existence (and conduct) by God.

In summary, the Johannine Epistles boldly attacks the heretical teachings that were agitating the young Christian communities. Such doctrines not only undercut the foundations of the church’s inherited witness from the apostles, but it also dissolved the traditional ties with Jewish faith in a Creator God. John wanted to arrest the Gnostic persuasion by strengthening the authority of Christianity and safeguard the church against the insidious dangers of heresy.

NOTE: The intent of this article, Gnosticism and the Johannine Literature - Part 1 & 2, is to give a brief overview of the Johnannine Epistles response to Gnosticism. It is limited in scope and severely deficient in addressing the vast content found in John’s Epistle’s relating to Gnosticism.

Getting your Wedding Invitation Wording correct is important. After all the wedding invitation wording is what relays to the guests the time and place they are to join you.

Wedding invitation wording needs to be clear. Wedding guests need to know exactly what portion of your wedding day they are being invited to. Some wedding invitation wording will state that a guest is invited to the whole day, ceremony and reception. Some wedding invitation wording will only state the time of the reception.

There is a certain etiquette that goes along with clear wedding invitation wording with a church wedding have the more formal wedding invitation wording. Something along the lines of

Mr & Mrs The Brides Parents

request the honor of

(handwritten name of guest)

at the marriage of their daughter

Brides name

with

Grooms name

taking place on

date and time clearly stated

at

wedding venue clearly stated

thereafter at

wedding reception venue clearly stated.

Please reply

If you do not want to hand write all your wedding guests names into your wedding invitations replacing the handwritten part with the wedding invitation wording of “request the honor of your presence” is totally fine.

If your wedding is to be at home then your wedding invitation wording can be slightly less formal with “request the honor of your presence” replaced with “request the pleasure of your company”.

As with the church wedding invitation wording an area can be left for you to hand write your guests names if you so choose.

If your wedding is to be held at a friend or relations home for whatever reason then the wedding invitation wording is less formal still. A simple

The pleasure of your company is requested

at the marriage of

Brides name

to

Grooms name

date and time

at the residence of

friends name

and address
is all that is required.

For obvious reasons weddings held in either your own home or that of a friend should be acknowledged as soon as possible. That is something you may want to work into either your wedding invitation wording or place an additional card in the envelope.

As long as you stick certain points of etiquette for your wedding invitation wording and you make sure that all relevant infomation is included then you can quite happily customize your own wedding invitations.

Enjoy your day.

Beauty of Nature Talent of Man, a New Ancient Art Form

Since Mankind first stood erect and developed a consciousness of the world in which he lived; Nature has been a place of many dangers. Violence and death, the need to survive, and the biological urge to reproduce, and to nurture ourselves and our offspring has always been a prime motivational factor.

Being alert to our surroundings has profound implications, and is as pertinent today as it was in the distant primitive past.

“He’s street smart”, Is one way that we designate and congratulate the modern man, who has learned to be aware of his basic world and how to survive.

All living things, share this “aware of surroundings, street smart” necessity for survival.

There are many things which separate us as Humans, from other living things. Most are obvious, and have been studied, examined, dissected, and extrapolated ad nauseum.

However, the Human Spirit, has special abilities and insights which help to define the Soul inherent in Human existence, and is actually a definitive proof of its existence.

Recognition of beauty. Not the beauty necessary for reproduction and the sexual urges which enable its success, but a more abstract and intellectual beauty. The “BEAUTY OF NATURE”.

An animal will stop and survey his surroundings, sniff the air, look at flowers, rocks, majestic mountains, but his motivation is survival. They are searching for a hidden enemy, or a source of necessary food.

Man is different. He can look at a beautiful sunset or a majestic peak, or a natural wonder like the Grand Canyon, an out cropping of rocks or any one of a million gifts of Natures Bounty and beauty, and feel our Soul vibrate and soar in sync with the abundant largess which Mother Nature, and God, has provided.

Of course we have a Soul, feel it beat in rhythm with the beauty of Nature.

Humanity has always been attracted to these dramatic gifts and we create parks, and national monuments, and fight to preserve these special areas of natural beauty.

The beauty of nature does not exist exclusively on this type of macro scale. There is a unique beauty of nature that exists on a very real, yet micro scale.

A new Art Form. An original way to capture and worship that which “God has wrought.” There are certain natural stones which have captured the originality and overwhelming beauty which is inherent on a macro scale by a Grand Canyon. Imagine, the dramatic originality of Nature, “one of a kind works of art”, available to enjoy and display in your home or office.

This new art form has several methodologies. The nature of the stone makes it a work of art naturally. This can be further enhanced using certain treatments, applied to the stone strategically, to enhance the effects already within it. Stone is also fast becoming a medium of choice for the innovative artist, as this material soaks up paint and gives a depth to color that isn’t achieved on traditional mediums. Sculpture is the most ancient form of stone art; however stacked sculpture is a new form that involves adding stone to a piece to achieve a desired effect.

A gift of Nature, the majesty of the Earth, to cherish and uplift your spirit, and beautify your environment. Bask in the reflective beauty of your World. Stone art provides a true cornacopia of originality and creativity.
