The city is teeming with amazing attractions to investigate. Here are simply 2 ideas.
The famous London Eye is named the Millennium Wheel, and for people that don’t know this, the wheel is, actually an observation wheel; and a chance for the public to rejoice in out capital from abounding and different perspectives from around the heavens.
With up to forty kilometres of amazing views on an unclouded day, the Millennium Wheel provides its visitors with tremendous sights of the city and many of its acclaimed landmarks. The wheel is, ok to visit the Wheel at night or day - the difficult decision is choosing which you want to do, come in daylight when all the landmarks are observable or maybe maybe after dark & for an awfully stunning view of the city’s lights. You’ll be able to find London shows by reading Time Out.
Theatreland around our capital has been evident since the early Victorian times, in truth, many of London’s famous theatres are of later Victorian or Edwardian times. The theatres come with an amazing individuality and this can add to the attraction of going on a night out to them. West end theatre shows go on for a wavering number of weeks. This is often dependent on the theatre’s in takings.
You’ll find that tickets are not now as high priced as they used to be, in spite of this they remain not uncostly. If one orders tickets quickly they might often obtain them at reasonable prices. Keep an eye out & for good buys that several firms may be able to offer. Perhaps it would be enjoyable to go out so one can get a meal before, or possibly stay in one of the London hotels later. Time Out is able to make your time at a theatre more easy - & more agreeing with its great guidance of which can be the foremost shows to go to around the city and perhaps what shows folk should abstain from.

ESSAYS ON AUTOBIOGRAPHY: NUMBER 1
Preamble:
Nearly seven years ago I wrote my first essay on the nature of autobiography. It was some two years after completing my initial draft, the first edition of my own autobiography. I am now working on the 5th edition of that autobiography some twenty years after the inception of this project. I trust this 5th edition will be the final one. I am overwhelmed with a sense of complexity, with feelings of indifference and with a vision of the magnitude of the task at hand. I think I could find the motivation to pursue this 5th edition if I could get a clear sense that the work I am doing in the field of autobiography. I certainly hope that this work will be of quite practical use to my fellow-man in the decades and even centuries ahead. This very notion seems presumptuous and this presumptuousness militates against the pursuit of the goals I began with when I set out to write this autobiography twenty years ago.
Since I find the study of autobiography more interesting that the writing of my own I continue writing these essays. Today I read an article on autobiography and what follows is based on that article. My intention is simply to write a summary of the relevant parts of that article with the long range aim of drawing these ideas together into some meaningful whole.
Even as a retired person with far less on my plate than during my thirty years of employment, life still takes me into corners of activity that keep me away from the kind of academic pursuits that this brief essay involves. My wife’s illness, my class in creative writing at the Seniors School, family duties and obligations of home and hearth however minimal, a necessary amount of physical activity to keep a sound mind in a sound body, fatigue after ten or eleven in the evening and an endless assortment of odds and ends have kept me from continuing this simple task. So it is, a day later I approach this essay with continuing enthusiasm.
Errors, omissions, even lies, are part of the fiction or imposture that is autobiography. The creative writer turns to autobiography out of some creative longing that can not be satisfied through fiction. Such a writer finds some peculiar closeness and intensity of effect. It is difficult, in writing autobiography, to keep history and fiction distinct. Nabokov says that the tracing of images into intricate harmonies is what autobiography does. Writers also try to repossess the realities of the past from what appears to be a sterile and fictive world to which he has sacrificed himself. The historiographical transaction that is autobiography does not contain the total freedom or imaginative response of, say, poetry or fiction. Unreliability is an inescapable condition of autobiography. The reader can watch the writer wrestle with truth.
It is important for the critic to understand the organizing principle or purpose behind the work. For the conscious shaping of a life, an informing purpose, exists behind the work. A voyage of genuine self-discovery is an essential component of such a work. This voyage takes place in a narrative past juxtaposed with a dramatic present. Confession, apology and memoir exist side by side as various contradictory and often unstable selves battle it out.

I have been married for 37 years. My wife is a Tasmanian, aged 58. We’ve had 3 children: ages in 2005 are 39, 35, and 28. I am 60, a Canadian who moved to Australia in 1971, and have written 3 books–all available on the internet. What’s hot in modest prom dresses for the 2006 prom season?
Read this exclusive interview of two popular modest prom dress websites, including “Twelve Tips for that Perfect Modest Prom Dress” from Sydney’s Closet.
In 2006, those seeking modest prom dresses, or brides maids dresses, have more selection than ever before.
What are your best selling dresses this year 2006?
ModestbyDesign.com: Tea-Length dresses have been popular this year, but I’ve found that year after year the majority of girls like the long fluffy ball-gowns the best. Colors change from season to season as well.
SydneysCloset.com: Dream Lover II, Dream Come True, Heavenly and Infatuation are a few of the biggest sellers for 2006 so far. Tastes change every year. Teens who shop for modest dresses don’t want to sacrifice fashion for coverage by wearing a prom dress that looks like it’s a season behind. For Prom 2006, Sydney’s Closet offers teens shopping for a modest prom dress the same trendy styles and colors being featured in traditional prom dresses.
What criteria do you use to choose which dresses to add to your collection?
Modest by Design Clothing Company: We search through thousands of immodest gowns to get to the 20-30 styles that we will carry. Our criteria for gowns that we will sell in our store are the following:
- that every gown we buy must have an actual sleeve,
- it should not go out too far on the shoulder,
- and it also must not be low-cut in the front or the back.
Sydney’s Closet: Sydney, the Prom pro, searches worldwide for modest plus size Prom dresses that:
- Satisfy the trend test with the same hot styles seen for all Prom 2006 dresses.
“Sydney’s Closet mantra is no more muumuus“!,
- Offer coverage in the arms and neckline that our customers need and want.
- Come in plus sizes 14 to 44,
- Can be delivered in a hurry.
What made you decide to sell modest prom and occasion dresses online?
ModestbyDesign.com: We started our company focusing on modest casual-wear. It was becoming difficult to find clothing that met our standards for modesty. Almost as soon as we launched our web-site in 2000 we started to receive requests asking us to carry formal wear for women and juniors. As we searched for gowns to carry, we found that indeed there was a need that was not being filled. So we decided that we would do what we could to fill that void.
SydneysCloset.com: Sydney’s Closet decided to offer modest prom dresses because so many teen-age girls - and their Moms - emailed and called saying they couldn’t find modest plus size prom dresses when they shopped in stores.
Are your customers religious girls, or are you seeing more and more young ladies drawn to modest dresses for different reasons?
ModestyByDesign.com: I think that the majority of our customers are religious girls. I received an e-mail from a young woman who quoted her religious leader telling them that “modesty is the style of virtue”.
There are also some people who are looking to hide or enhance certain aspects of their figure, such as full arms or a plus size.
SydneysCloset.com: Teens buy modest Prom dresses at SydneysCloset.com for several reasons:
- Many want to meet religious requirements such as those for a modest LDS prom dress.
- Many must meet dress code requirements at their schools, which may not be religious.
- Many of our curvy customers buy dresses with sleeves as a “figure fix” to cover their upper arms.
- Others opt for modest Prom dresses because they just like the dress!
- Many bargain hunters go online to search for affordable and modest Prom dresses. Unlike brick and mortar stores that only carry Prom dresses during spring, web sites like Sydney’s Closet carry Prom dresses year-round offering the chance to buy cheap Prom dresses off season.
Are there any disadvantages to ordering a formal dress online? Isn’t it the kind of thing you need to try on?
ModestyByDesign.com: I think that it’s always easier to buy a gown that you can try on. It’s easier to get an idea of which styles you like on your body when you can compare between cuts, fabrics, etc.. The problem that our customers have found is that most stores do not carry a selection of modest gowns, making them almost impossible for people to find. Each section of our web-site has a correlating size chart so that customers can take their measurements and compare them, which helps to get the best fit. We also allow for returns/exchanges so that our customers can exchange dresses until they find the fit they need.
SydneysCloset.com: In an ideal world, everyone would get to try on a Prom dress. But that’s not always possible for teens and Moms challenged to find modest plus size prom dresses in stores near where they live. Today they can search online for the Prom dress of their dreams and a solution to their dress up dilemma.
The expert fashion team at Sydney’s Closet works one-on-one with each customer on the phone or through emails to help her find a dress that fits her curves and flatters her figure. SydneysCloset.com also posts:
- a size chart with each dress
- a size wise guide on how to measure
- fit and flatter tips.
Twelve Tips for that Perfect Modest Prom Dress:
(from Sydney’s Closet)
- Shop early for the best selection; hot styles sell out fast.
- Have a first, second and third choice to avoid disappointment.
- Measure bust, waist and hip carefully and keep that information handy.
- Consult size charts; even same sizes vary among manufacturers.
- When in doubt go up a size; you can always take in a dress.
- Never buy a dress too small planning to lose weight to fit in it.
- Review carefully cancellation, exchange and return policies.
- Shop only at sites with secured transactions; look for a “lock” symbol
- Check for customer testimonials.
- Avoid sites without phone numbers or physical addresses for customer service.
- Print your receipt or note your order and confirmation number.
- Plan on alterations - almost everyone needs them for a perfect fit!
Modest prom dresses are the hottest topic today in the modest clothing industry. There are more and more sites carrying modest prom dresses every year. True freedom of choice can only occur when there are more choices. Those choosing to show more fabric and less skin are beginning to find their freedom online. While each site may use differing criteria of what is considered modest, they all have the customer’s satisfaction with her formal dress in mind. See some of the styles mentioned for Modest Prom 2006.

Sarbanes Oxley software has been aptly designed for the corporate world to introduce it to the Sarbanes Oxley act. It also helps the accounting personnel to take an insight into the legislation and document the financial reports as per the act. But is it the solution for Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Issues?
Sarbanes Oxley software is available on the internet for a download. It is very helpful software for those who are seeking Sarbanes Oxley compliance for their financial disclosures. Sarbanes Oxley software contains guides, presentations, and implementation checklists. These checklists are available in MS format. This helps the documents to be freely prepared and be edited as well.
The guide accompanied with Sarbanes Oxley software gives a total insight to the Sarbanes Oxley act. This guide which forms a part of Sarbanes Oxley software is representation of the complete act in the simple language for an ordinary person to understand. Sarbanes Oxley software also accompanies a PowerPoint presentation which explicitly illustrates the important sections of the act like section 302, 404, 401, 804, 906(a) etc.
Sarbanes Oxley software also contains a management compliance guide to provide a detailed literature on corporate governance. This management guide from Sarbanes Oxley software is a good guide for educating and bringing about awareness about the act amongst the corporate personnel.
The Sarbanes Oxley software also contains a total compliance lists. These checklists contain all the important aspects of corporate governance. They also act as a help guide while documenting the total processes for fiscal report for any particular financial year. Another help guide accompanied with the Sarbanes Oxley software is the audit committee guide. It explains the requirement of act as per the rules of Sarbanes Oxley act for the audit committee. It also explains the main actions an audit committee member should be up-to-date with. Lastly the audit committee checklist applies to the audit committee itself. This check list ensures that the audit committee performs the total tasks as per the Sarbanes Oxley act.
Various vendors sell the Sarbanes Oxley software. These vendors help the companies to meet the financial documentation and reporting requirements as per the Act. Sarbanes Oxley software sold by some vendors is specially designed to address a particular section of the Act. For example, Sarbanes Oxley software developed by Westford specifically addresses the section 404 of the law. This section addresses the need of the company to have stricter and more regulatory internal controls.
Even thought so many vendors offer the Sarbanes Oxley software but still many of the top executive still find hard to comprehend the Act. This is because although the Act contains 11 main titles, still, there are total 90 sections and three hundred discreet points of law.
Nevertheless, Sarbanes Oxley software is very helpful in making the top executives understand the documentation and evaluation process of the Sarbanes Oxley act. This software mainly uses the process based approach to the understanding of the law and also to evaluate financial processing controls.

Simply put a lamp is a device that generates light, heat or some
sort of therapeutic radiation (like the laser ones). The word
that derives its roots from Middle English lampe or Latin lampas
is one everyday device that can gets taken for granted but can
slice through any density of darkness with a flick of the
switch.
The humble lamp started out as far back as the Stone Age,
historians suggest. Back then it was just a hollow rock,
probably filled with absorbent moss or something similar that
could be soaked with animal fat. Since then it has seen several
modifications and has been improved upon to give it its present
form and now the term is used for all types of lighting devices
used for illumination. Though it’s shape, fuel used, the
wick…all have changed forms, the basic working principle is
still the same.
This simple illumination device has been part and parcel of
mankind’s collective history and was used in various forms
across cultures in ancient times. Egyptians and the people of
Central Asia used terracotta saucers, the Greek invented
torches, the Romans improvised them with multiple spouts and the
Hebrews used the seven-branched candlestick. Most religious
ceremonies use a lighting device of some kind because light is a
universal symbol of everything sacred. These devices were
usually cumbersome but now, you just have to press an electrical
switch and there you are!
We use them in our everyday life to illuminate a room, to set a
particular mood, to showcase our prized possessions or even to
burn the midnight oil. This humble light source is traded in
flea markets, dime stores, branded retail houses and even the
Internet. Some people collect them others use them to beautify
their homes. Whatever the reason, there is always need to let
there be light.

A great smile can prove to be a valuable asset, particularly when you first meet someone. However, people who have brown or yellow stained teeth are very conscious of this shortcoming. It may also cause social insecurity. One of the best treatment methods available to gain back that white perfect smile is teeth whitening. The basic methodology of teeth whitening is that it reverses the process of discoloration of teeth, bleaching them to reveal the white enamel again.
Teeth generally darken over a period of time. This may be due to consumption of caffeine-containing drinks (like tea, coffee and cola) or tobacco products. Also, excessive fluoride production and use of antibiotic medication can also lead to teeth discoloration. However, the biggest factor contributing to the loss of whiteness is age. Teeth whitening, to counter the process of discoloration, is one of the safest and the most popular procedure in cosmetic dentistry. Studies indicate that almost 96% of the people who undergo this treatment experience visible benefits.
There are three options available to those considering this procedure - you can either undergo professional bleaching, try home bleaching or use whitening toothpastes. Of the three listed, the quickest and the most effective is professional bleaching. It is also referred to as In-Office or Chair-side bleaching. It usually requires two or more visits to a dentist. However, the effects are much long lasting than any other procedure. The dentist will apply a bleaching agent to your teeth. The gums, however, are not harmed. The most common mouth guard is a gel or rubber shield. After the dentist has carefully applied the bleaching agent to your teeth, he might want to use additional heat or light procedures to make the agent work faster. A usual treatment sitting might last from 30 minutes to an hour.
The second option that is available to you is that of home bleaching. You can buy a kit from any certified pharmacist or dentist. This kit would usually contain a hydrogen peroxide based bleaching gel or solution. This is meant to be applied to the tooth enamel. As a rule, a mouth guard is also included in the kit. You are supposed to place the solution or gel in the mouth guard and then follow the directions given with the equipment. The frequency of use and the duration of treatment for home bleaching vary. Overnight treatments work for a much shorter period. However, if you are, say, required to use the kit twice a day, the treatment might be effective for a longer period of time.
Whitening toothpastes work in a different way from bleaching techniques because they do not aim towards a permanent alteration of teeth color. They usually contain polishing agents. They work to remove some of the deeper stains, which a regular toothpaste might not effectively dislodge. You should always consult your dentist before going forth with any of these procedures - he is the best person to guide you and can advise you on the most effective treatment plan suited to your needs.

You’re the boss, and you have every reason to feel good about your organization.
You’ve built a great team.
You’ve put strong players in every spot.
You have clearly defined procedures for every part of the business.
You have incentive, safety recognition, and bonus programs.
But something doesn’t seem quite right.
Somehow, there seems to be a sense of unease. You can’t put your finger on it exactly, but you know it’s there. It’s what you wake up at 2 a.m. worrying about.
What are the symptoms?
Well, it’s not that precise. It’s the little things. Like, well, you spend too much time monitoring your workers - checking time sheets, correcting behavior problems, and dealing with attitude problems. People seem to be “doing their own thing” instead of being a part of a team.
Sound familiar?
It should, because getting optimal team performance is a common problem for business owners, from the largest corporation to the mom and pop business. Building a strong team provides the foundation for good performance, but that is only part of the process. As the manager, you need to encourage behaviors that create positive business results.
A powerful tool for encouraging these behaviors is the use of targeted positive reinforcement within a well defined performance management system. Much has been written about the use of positive reinforcement in recent years, but many managers and business owners still struggle with how to apply it appropriately. One reason many people do not get the results they hope for is a misunderstanding of how reinforcement strategies really work.
Much more than “pats on the back”, “atta-boys”, and “warm fuzzies”, the effective use of positive reinforcement strategies in a structured performance management system relies on knowledge of your business systems, understanding the effect of specific employee behaviors on business results, and precisely targeted behavioral reinforcements.
Creating a strong performance management system starts with understanding why people do what they do.
One model of explaining human behavior says that an individual’s behavior results from the consistent pairing of antecedents (situations or events just prior to our behaviors) and consequences (situations or events created by our behaviors).
For example, we enter a dark room and flip the light switch to “On”. We do this because we expect light to be the result. Darkness is the antecedent. Light is the consequence. If we enter a room and consistently get no light by flipping the switch, we resort to some other behavior (light a candle, carry a flashlight, etc).
While this sounds simple enough in the example, in practice, it is often more difficult when we apply it in the workplace.
The key is to identify the behaviors that produce the desired business results; then create consequences for employees that will reinforce those behaviors. Any consequence that encourages a behavior to repeat is a positive reinforcement.
But there is a subtlety that is very important. We can encourage behaviors, but we cannot enforce them. Many companies try to enforce appropriate behaviors rather than encourage them.
Enforcing requires a high degree of supervisory input and nets only minimal standard performance from employees, but encouraging requires minimal supervisory input once the system is in place, and it usually results in superior performance.
One way to achieve a consistent pairing of results (consequences) and behaviors is accomplished through a targeted improvement process much like the processes advocated by ISO, QS, and TQM management systems. The steps in this process are:
- Identify the behaviors that create the desired results
- Measure the results of the behaviors
- Provide feedback to employees
- Positively reinforce the effective behaviors
- Evaluate the choice of behaviors and measurements - iterate to improve selection
As business people, we should all know that human behavior drives business results. Our daily behaviors create the results that either help or hurt our businesses. Learning to encourage behaviors that grow the business can make the difference between success and failure.

Living With Real EstateComments Off
Mortgage interest rates are rising and single family homes are more expensive than ever. The American dream is becoming more like a fantasy to most average hard working Americans already struggling to pay the rent.
Additionally, what is going to happen to countless families that recently purchased their first home under those new adjustable rate mortgage loans that take effect after a very short fixed rate period? These people are going to have serious payment shock when they realize the effect that two percentage points has on a long term, several hundred thousand dollar mortgage. Foreclosure numbers are going to skyrocket in this country. A severely damaged credit score rating will drive these people back to the rental market or into some type of “owner financed” property.
A mobile home offers a solution to these families. Yet, because of the negative stigma associated with mobile home parks, city officials will generally do whatever it takes to prevent new park developments. Couple this fact with the significant cash requirements to build a mobile home park and you have a powerful discrepancy between demand and supply. Savvy real estate investors know this and are already profiting from our nation’s lack of affordable housing.
Still not sure if a mobile home park investment is a good idea? Perhaps, this might change your mind. The king of Wall Street, Warren Buffet recently invested 1.7 billion of Berkshire Hathaway’s capital by purchasing Clayton Homes Inc, one of the largest manufactured housing companies in the world. This was after an unsuccessful bid to buy a huge portfolio of delinquent mobile home loans from Conseco Inc.
Typically, when Warren jumps, millions follow and bank on yearly 12% returns. However, this is a unique opportunity for investors to gain huge profits from Buffets financial wisdom in the short term. The “Oracle of Omaha” as always been know for buying value, buckling down for the long haul and closing his position decades later when he’s squeezed every penny from each respective stock. The beautiful thing about a mobile home park investment is that (provided you know what you’re doing) you don’t have to wait a decade to realize triple digit returns on your money. Every day, mobile home park investors sell parks for multiples of what they paid for them a few years prior. Corey Donaldson, an experienced mobile home investor was recently able to retire as he doubled his equity (1.2 million) with his Texas mobile home park in just one year. Similar investors across the globe are able to accomplish this seemingly impossible feat with every park they purchase. These are generally deemed “turnaround” mobile home parks, where the investor finds an owner that has managed his/her park poorly over the years, either out of apathy or ignorance. Once locking up the property (many times with the previous owner carrying the mobile home park loan) this knowledgeable mobile home investor makes the sweeping changes necessary to increase net operating income.
However, you don’t have to buy a poorly run park to realize significant returns. Most of mobile home parks are between 15 and 30 acres. Historically, that land becomes so valuable that over time those mobile homes are replaced by larger commercial, retail or residential developments. However, unlike most land investments that are considered sunken costs until someone sells or builds, mobile home parks are producing large monthly cash flows as you rent the dirt the mobile homes sit on. In other words, you can profit by leasing the land to people as the value of your land appreciates.

As we age, it tends to get harder for us to move around and perform basic tasks because of pain. Something as simple as getting up from a chair may seem like a normal task to a healthy person, but for someone with bad arthritis or limited mobility, getting up from a chair could almost be like climbing Mount Everest.
With a lift chair, the pain associated with getting in and out of a chair is greatly reduced, or even eliminated. This is because the chair does what your muscles and joints would normally do. When getting out of a regular recliner, you use your hips and your abdominal muscles to bring your torso forward. Then you use your leg muscles and your knees to lift yourself out of your chair. Your feet and ankles provide balance as you begin to stand up from the chair.
What a lift chair does is put you in an almost vertical position, so that you don’t have to put as much stress on your knees and joints in order to get out of the chair. With the simple press of a button, your lift chair will slowly push your body forwards and upwards so that you can literally walk right out of your chair.
Lift chair’s work just like a regular reclining chair. However, with the reclining chair, you have to manually put the footrest up, or you have to manually recline it. With the lift chair, you press a button to bring the footrest up, you press a button to recline the chair, and you also press a button to lift the chair so that you can easily get out of it.
For people who suffer from chronic pain, a lift chair can greatly improve their quailty of life.
