Muffins are just the proper size for tiny hands and tiny mouths too. My fave muffins to cook and serve are bread-like textured American muffins. The rough muffin tops are good all alone, but heat a fruit-filled muffin recipe, and you have made a masterwork. One word of caution on baking muffins : don’t over mix or you could have a troublesome muffin with holes in the middle. Stir about ten strokes and your muffins will be fine.
Not a hungry small child is going to note however! If you are involved with feeding your folks healthy muffins, and who isn’t naturally, there are some fantastic decisions in recipes. Reduced fat versions are great for diet conscious folks too. Here are 2 healthy and heavenly muffin recipes for you to try. Applesauce Oat Muffins 1- half cups oats 1- [*FR3] cs flour three / 4 tsp cinnamon one tsp baking powder three / four tsp bicarbonate of soda one c applesauce one egg [*FR1] c milk five tbsp oil half c brown sugar Heat stove to four hundred degrees. Blend oats, flour, cinnamon, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda. Add applesauce, milk, brown sugar, egg, oil. Mix just till clammy, about ten strokes, don’t over mix. Put in muffin cups about 2 / three full. Raisin and Pumpkin Muffins 1- 0.5 cups flour 0.5 cup Splenda two tsp baking powder half tsp salt one tsp cinnamon half tsp nutmeg half cup milk half cup can pumpkin one tsp vanilla five tbsp liquified butter one egg beaten half cup raisins Heat stove to 400. Add milk, pumpkin, vanilla, butter and egg, stirring softly two times. Add raisins, and stir just until moistened.
Fill muffin cups 2 / three full, and bake 18-20 mins or till passes toothpick test. Mix up a fast heap of muffins, and watch the gang come sniffing around to see what’s baking! Muffins are best eaten shortly after they have cooled, but also freeze well and can be heated in the microwave, making them superb for family meal planning. Give a child a muffin today and watch him smile!
