Make Your Ads Different

Your completed AdWords ads are going to run right along side everyone else’s. You need to use words that will make yours stand out. Again, here is where you need to look at your competitors ads to see what they are saying. Once you’ve done that, you need to figure out how to make yours stand out.

Don’t use the same terms at beginning of titles and sentences. Think of synonyms for more commonly used words. Think of different ways to say things.

Whatever you do, make your ad different. If it stands out, for the right reasons, you will get more clicks.

Run Several Different Ads at Once For Each Ad Group

AdWords allows you to run as many ads as you would like for each ” Ad Group” (keyword group). Take advantage of this feature. Don’t limit yourself to only one ad. Run two or three different ads for each Ad Group.

Experiment with different wording in titles, different text in the ads themselves and different “Destination URLs” to see which ads get the highest clickthrough percentages and which have the highest conversion rate.

Keep the ads that make you the most money and delete the other ones. You can then try other variations of the ad that converted well to make it even better. Always run more than one ad, even if the “different” ads are very similar.

Even a change to one word can increase your conversion percentages dramatically at times.

Consider Using Different “Destination URLs” for Your Ads

Your website’s main page may not be the page that best “converts” viewers into customers. If you’re trying to sell one specific product with an ad, don’t send people clicking on your ad to your website’s main page. Send them directly to the webpage for that product.

You might also consider designing specific “splash” pages for each Ad Group you run. Each of those splash pages can then use the terms you’re including in that Ad Group. If your customers see the same terms on your web site that made them click on the ad in the first place, they’ll be more likely to buy your product.

7. Ezine/Online Advertising - Buy ads in Ezines related to your products or services or Ezines who cater to your demographics. Similarly, consider advertising in relevant websites with banner ads. Search for ezine directories and find a revelant match for your business. Find out their prices and requirements. You will need to write a concise paragraph about your business or get a designer to create graphic ads for you.

Kidsline, one of the most well-known brands of crib bedding, is widely available to consumers through many national chains, including Babies R Us, baby specialty stores, and internet retailers. Construction Zone crib bedding was introduced by Kidsline in late 2004. Consistent with Kidsline’s historical preference for crib bedding that communicates a strong theme, this is their entry into the niche of truck themed crib bedding. Assuming that you like this underlying theme, Construction Zone represents an excellent value at between $160 and $190 for a six-piece set. You may even be able to find it for less if you are willing to wait for the occasional sale.

Construction Zone is generally sold as a six-piece crib set, comprised of a quilt, bumper, fitted sheet, dust ruffle, diaper stacker, and valance. Each of these crib set pieces are also available separately, although very few retailers are likely to have the separate pieces in stock – you would need to have them special ordered with a 2-6 week lead time. The selection of coordinated accessories is truly extraordinary – musical mobile, pillows, wall border, drapes, lamp and shade, hamper, quilt clips (for displaying the quilt on the wall), growth chart, clothes pegs, drawer knobs, night light, switch plate covers, picture frames, basket liner, rugs, and wall hangings. Given the sheer number of accessories, it would be almost impossible for a store to carry all of them. You may need to visit one of the few websites that carry all of the accessories in stock. And take care that a $175 crib set does not evolve into a $500 nursery collection “monster” after buying all of the accessories.

Although I generally prefer a more subdued presentation of the underlying theme of a crib bedding collection, I must confess to being taken in by Construction Zone. The colors of the background fabrics of green and blue are quiet but interesting. In particular, the blue fabric, which in pictures appears to be a relatively uninteresting solid blue fabric, is really a finely woven gingham of blue and white with a light denim appearance. The wandering quilting pattern on the quilt adds a great deal of texture.

But it is the embroidery on all of the pieces that truly sets this crib set apart. Using well over two dozen different fabric and thread colors and textures, including various plaids, corduroys, and other textured fabrics, the construction equipment images are extraordinarily detailed and vibrant. This is a set that gets cuter and more interesting the closer you get to it – you can’t resist touching it to feel the wide variety of textures.

Given the extent of embroidery work and the very moderate price, I was impressed with the overall level of workmanship. While I noted some unevenness with the colors of some of the heavily tufted fabrics, giving the appearance of “coloring outside the lines” of the embroidery stitches, these instances are very minor and do not detract from the overall appearance.

Unfortunately for Canadian customers purchasing from a United States online retailer, Construction Zone crib bedding is manufactured in China. Customers in Canada would be required to pay import duties of as much as 18% of the stated prices.

Some interesting alternatives to consider for Construction Zone are: Precious Cargo by Lambs & Ivy, Under Construction by Cocalo, and Truck Truck by Brandee Danielle.

Google Adsense has provided many webmasters and bloggers with a genuine opportunity to make money online. In a nutshell, it’s simply a matter of signing up for a Google Adsense account and then posting some code onto your website or blog which causes Google’s pay-per-click Adword ads to be displayed.

The ads are “contextual” - thanks to Google’s software they reflect the content on the page upon which they are displayed. So if your website is related to travel, the ads will also relate to travel. If you have a website which provides information on new car sales, the ads will be for car sales, and so on.

With very few exceptions (gambling, adult related content, etc.) Google will serve relevant ads for you regardless of your sites main subject area. There’s no need to spend time seeking out advertisers and, since the adverts are highly relevant to your main topic area, they should be of interest to your visitors, thereby increasing the number of people who click on them.

And that’s the good bit - whenever someone clicks on one of those ads, the advertiser pays Google a fee. Google then splits this fee with the webmaster hosting the ads. This, along with similar ads hosted on Google’s search pages, is how Google makes most of its money - it’s big business.

Google Adsense has become one of the best ways for small webmasters to earn online, and an entire industry seems to have grown up around it. It’s possible to choose from a huge range of e-books detailing how to maximise your Adsense income. Selection of ad types, colour schemes, positioning of ads, good topics and keywords etc. are usually discussed in depth.

It’s also possible to participate in online forums where the main topic of discussion is Google Adsense and the best ways to earn from it. Software is available for the (largely) automatic generation of special websites whose sole purpose is to earn from Adsense - so called “Adsense sites”.

As good as a lot of the available information is, many webmasters find themselves disappointed by their Adsense income for one simple reason - insufficient traffic to their sites. Of course, there are many independent references and resources available which deal with the subject of generating traffic to websites - but since many of the best traffic building strategies require time, effort and sometimes money this can put too great a strain on the patience and advertising budget of many online entrepreneurs.

Blogging For Adsense Profit
This is pretty straightforward - you can now sign up to blogging networks which, in return for content provided by you, will split any Adsense profit 50 - 50. So, when your blog post is displayed, 50% of the time it will show Adsense ads associated with your account and 50% of the time it will display ads associated with the blog host’s Adsense account.

In fact, the 50 - 50 split is based on the number of displays. Due to the way Google Adsense revenue is allocated it’s difficult to arrange a 50 - 50 split of profits - but over time it should average out to something around 50% each.

Essentially, you provide the content and the blog host provides traffic to your blog. There does tend to be a sense of “community” with this type of arrangement and, once this is established a reasonable level of visitors to your blog posts should be achievable. If you’re a gregarious type of person who does well in a “community” environment then this may be a good option for you.

There are many benefits to writing and submitting articles to article banks. You get backlinks to your site which not only improves your search engine ranking but also results in traffic from direct clicks. You also have a great opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in your chosen field as your articles are syndicated and reused around the internet on websites, blogs and in ezines and newsletters.
