The narrative opens as Stan Turner laments Mondays. By late afternoon a frantic telephone call from an old client, Tex Weller closely followed by a visit from Derek Donner convinces Stan that Mondays really should be banned. Donner, Stan’s casualty insurance agent, has arrived with the news that one Lottie West has been found dead and Stan is the executor of her estate. The widowed Mrs West and her dozen or so dogs all have apparently died as result of a gas leak. Stan’s last appointment of the day is with Robert Huntington, who needs an attorney desperately, however Huntington cannot really say much about why. ‘This is a matter of national security. You don’t have the proper clearance.’ Once again Stan Turner is off on an invigorating, if at times puzzling, series of events that will ultimately lead him to uncovering not only unintentional homicide but also the looting and recovery of the long lost Ludinburg collection of priceless art treasures.

Set in Dallas during the savings and loan emergency of the late 1980s Black Monday is an easily read tale filled with conundrum, chicanery and mystery. Dallas Police Department Detective Bingo Besch, accused murderer Jimmy Bennet, Stan’s partner Paula Waters and Rebekah, his wife, all figure in the tale. Included in the narrative are a polemical turf battle between the FBI and CIA involving the Iran-Contra Scandal, three Dallas homicides in a single night and a profusion of flash backs to various 1987 events.

With his invariably astute adroitness, writer William Manchee has once more crafted one of his greatly enjoyable Stan Turner mysteries. Stan is again embroiled in scenario and subplot as Manchee intertwines the diversified elements of the tale with his usual dash and skill. Fully drawn characters are well fleshed, filled with imperfection and foibles and often given to perplexing artifice.

Black Monday is a thrilled packed compelling read filled with a masterfully engineered story line, snappy, first class dialogue and spine tingling action. Liberal conflict is judiciously resolved in this cleverly written work Black Monday provides the reader a glimpse inside the daily lives of characters who are engaging and interesting and thoroughly supposable. Black Monday is another in what this reviewer hopes is to be a very long series of William Manchee’s ‘Stan Turner’ mystery thrillers. The work remains my favorite type of book of good solid writing filled with credible characters and circumstances. As with other Manchee works there is no graphic sex thrown in an effort to sell the book or to try to cover up lack of writing skill. Black Monday is just a satisfying, well written edition.

Fans of a fast paced suspense thriller are sure to find Black Monday more than satisfies their longing for an excellent book for whiling away a long winter evening or during a summer after spent reading out on the front porch. A must have for the home library, the pleasure reading shelf and high school reading list. We who enjoy suspense filled mystery thrillers can only hope writer Manchee continues hard at work on the next in the series. I look forward to that next one and each of the ones to follow. Black Monday is a narrative that will grab you from the first line and will hold interest steady right on down to the last page.

Enjoyed the read, happy to recommend.

The Seventh Jewel is a fantasy-adventure fiction geared for
youth (ages 11 and up). J.J. Pritchard crammed several
tantalizing elements in only 278 pages. The reader is taken
on a journey that involves a treasure hunt, a noble quest and
the discovery of an ancient civilization. The author touches
upon family relationships, dealing with death and coming to
terms with loosing a limb. The Seventh Jewel is also an
educational book that brings up serious issues from poverty
to discrimination. Mr. Pritchard’s approach to encourage
readers to use his glossary of the ancient Inca language
was very well done.

J.J. Pritchard, author of 6 books including The Seventh
Jewel, has participated in a climbing expedition in Peru. His
first hand knowledge of Peru, global warming and ancient
Inca history is shown by tasteful and accurate use of facts.
He couples this with highly plausible events throughout the
story, making this book very well rounded, unique and
realistic.

There are four main characters: Emma, a gutsy and witty
teenage amputee, teaches the reader understanding and
respect for what amputees experience. I think she could be
a role model for many readers. Joel, her brave 11-year-old
brother, displays a loyal adventurous heart. Uncle Jake, a
well-connected treasure hunter by trade, plays the part of a
hero and protector during a few points in the story. Estrella,
a beautiful professor, has a chip on her shoulder that
begins to melt when she meets Uncle Jake. Her life long
dream is to honor her people by discovering the mysterious
jewel of the Ancient Inca.

They are all thrown together when scientists discover that
knowledge of an extremely rare element may exist in the
ancient records of the Inca. This element has the potential
to combat global warming and it is worth an inconceivable
amount of money. Because of this value, people of
questionable character are attracted to treasure hunt – but
they play by their own rules and answer to their own ethics.

The Seventh Jewel was an exceptional read. I highly
encourage readers to pick up a copy of J.J. Pritchard’s latest
book. You won’t be disappointed!

“Free Agent Nation,” a book by Daniel H. Pink, shows that
the American way to work in the 21st century is moving away from
employment to self-employment. That’s marvelous news.

At least 33 million Americans now work for themselves. The
Industrial Revolution is over in America, and self-employment is
surging in “Free Agent Nation,” America in the 21st century.
You must become a “free agent,” too.

The number of union members is now only half as many as the 33 million self-employed. Unions, once useful and powerful, are now irrelevant, comical and feeble (but still heavy-laden with lots of cash and leaders practicing leftist political mischief). Union membership is plummeting because the Industrial Revolution ended.

Today’s largest “employer” is not an industrial giant. It’s Manpower, Inc.,the temp services firm, because many people are now permanent temporary workers, moving from assignment to assignment (a form of free agency).

Another form of free agency, being a NLF player, is more lucrative.

Traditional jobs are disappearing–some in obsolete industries, while others move to foreign countries (known as “offshore outsourcing”).

Why pay an American worker $15 per hour when workers in China, earning an average of 61 cents per hour, can manufacture things far cheaper?

Technology brings increased productivity yet permanent job losses for many millions, since technology allows far fewer people to produce just as much.

Don’t believe in the hollow political rhetoric about new job creation.

Although politicians will say anything to get elected, they have no power to create jobs. Businesses create jobs, when and if needed.

We predict that jobs will continue to decline. Our economy needs far fewer newly-created jobs, not millions more. But America needs millions more self-employed persons until 80% are self-employed, as before the Industrial Revolution started.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics finds that, although millions of jobs were lost since 2000, some 1.9 million new businesses were created during the same time.

So, these job losers are not homeless people eating out of garbage cans, as some politicians suggest, but are founders of their own new businesses.

Afraid to be self-employed? Think it’s too risky? Jobs are more of a risk to your finances, family, physical and mental health and happiness than self-employment. Self-employed people are twice as likely to earn more than $75,000 annually than employees.

Dread returning to work Monday morning? Don’t worry. Since there are many more heart attacks on Monday morning than other days and times, possibly caused by fear of returning for a week of more job stress, most hospitals increase staff at that time.

Is being confined to a cardiac care unit more pleasant that returning to work on Monday?

Working for yourself first means thinking for yourself, not following the flawed and outdated ideas, whims, dictates and of others.

H.L Mencken (1880 to 1956), a famous American journalist, said that people who do not think for themselves belong to a species called “Boobus Americanus.”

A “Boobus” is wimpy and spineless, has few ideas of his/her own, and can be pushed around easily by employers, friends, family, intrusive government and sometimes a church and/or denomination.

America’s conventional medical system (“the sickness industry”) and its economic hucksterism, the moronic popular culture, busybody family members, unsuccessful like-minded friends, and sometimes a spiritually dead yet domineering churches–these things all enslave a “Boobus.”

A “Boobus” in corporate management is called “The Organization Man,” (described by author William H. Whyte in his book of the same name), an executive or manager continually sucking up to the boss, craving a larger desk, bigger office, more petty bureaucratic power, an annual “merit” raise, a hefty bonus, stock options, executive perks such as a gold key to the executive wash room, and material and high society benefits to impress others such as company-paid country club memberships.

An “Organization Man” loves to perpetuate the status quo, stifle innovation, exercise control by writing and following worthless procedures, attend sterile corporate committee meetings, and squeeze out smart, creative subordinates deemed to be a “poor fit” with the firm.

“Free Agent Nation” has a chapter named “Bye, Bye Organization Guy.” Both the “Organization Man” and long term employee are becoming part of a closed chapter in American history. Don’t be left behind as a discarded particle in the dust bin of American history. Work for yourself instead.

Neither a “Boobus” nor an “Organization Man” be. Don’t continue to live in the past. In today’s world, the “old days” sometimes means last year. Change happens fast. You must keep up with it.

The first step to being a “free agent” is to free yourself from the dominion and influence of others and start thinking for yourself in all areas of your life, getting sage advice when needed.

You must work for yourself in “Free Agent Nation,” marching to your own drumbeat and cheerfully disregarding advice from whiny, chronically unsuccessful, people–those depending on a change in the weather, good luck, winning a lottery, receiving an inheritance, finding a “dream job” (what an oxymoron!), or qualifying somehow for womb to the tomb government largesse.

You already have what it takes to write your first e-book. And like other winners you can create or increase your passive income stream each month. Your winning competitors wish you would never discover these secrets.

You may be asking “What if I don’t have the mind of a techie?” You can still write your winner e-book and start earning in a few weeks. Start by solving your readers’ problems using your expert knowledge. You know the articles and reports already in your files. Expand one of your articles or speeches into a short book by adding a short story or some practical how-to steps.

If you want to increase your present book income or just get started now, read these ten secrets and apply them:

1. Secret One.
Write a short e-book first to test your market. I know short doesn’t mean the same thing to every person. For e-books, let’s agree 10-90 pages is short, even 5-27 sounds less intimidating. Your future customers are busy and usually download only the pages they want at the time.

Make your e-book simpler, shorter, and punchier than your print book. Shorten your sentences, stories and analogies. Your winner format will include a strong heading (question) your reader needs answered and the answer. This winner formula presents the problem and solution quickly without a lot of words.

2. Secret Two.
Focus on one topic in your book. It’s a known fact bestsellers focus on one main topic. Focus on one topic then write each chapter to support that subject. When you overload your reader with information, you come across as disorganized, wordy and flat. Instead of including everything you know, stick to one how-to subject and include plenty of simple details with examples to make it useful to your reader.

3. Secret Three.
Brand yourself, your business and your book. Think about the greatest benefit that you offer through your book or service. Consider your book and chapter titles. Now think about your keywords and headings on your website. Do you see a repeating word that stands out? For example, the book “Win With the Writer Inside You” the author threads some form of “win” throughout her materials. Ever heard of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series? The title changes in its audience but the Chicken Soup brand stays the same. For example, there’s a Chicken Soup for Teen-agers, Chicken Soup for Mothers, and so on.

4. Secret Four.
Get a professional editor and/or book coach. Yes, its o.k. and you should get feedback from family, friends, local writing group, etc. But you need to get a professional viewpoint of your work to weed out the passive voice, bad grammar and all the things that slow your readers down to a standstill. Copy that appeals to the emotions of your reader sell your books. Your future customers want word pictures that they can respond to with their emotions.

5. Secret Five.
Target and get to know your audience. Let’s face it not everyone will want to read your book. Most newbie authors think up what they feel is a great product; spend tons of time and sometimes money looking for people to buy it. Instead match your expert knowledge with an audience you can serve. Consider their needs, problems and how you can help solve them. Business people are a hot audience right now. They are hungry and willing to buy what will improve, make profitable their life and business. Right now think of one to three preferred audiences in your area of expertise. Then write the book your customers will be looking for.

6. Secret Six.
Automate your business. Don’t get frustrated if you are a non-techie, like me. You can do it. Take your time or at least decide to learn at your own pace. Years ago, the author knew very little about the internet now she owns many websites. She has published 5 inspirational e-books and several on internet marketing and e-book writing/publishing at the time of this writing.

Write your e-book quickly but offer a quality product. Aim to give your customer more than they have asked. Market your book on your site, on the site of others, everywhere basically. A good place to start is eBay or Booklocker. Don’t forget to offer your e-book for sale through an 800 number. Ureach is an excellent service 888-506-7790. Setup a download link for people to access your product. Consider Paypal, Clickbank and/or 2Checkout and/or your own merchant account for offline purchases to offer your customer choices. They will reward you by choosing one.

Whenever you are ready, think delegation, delegate some of your work to a computer assistant. For some perfectionist (not me) delegation may sound like a dirty word. Contact your local high schools and technical schools where bright techies live. The expense is low in comparison to the results you can gain.

7. Secret Seven.
Sizzle Your Title. Your title may well be 90% of the pulling power for your book. An excellent title is short. The top titles are benefit driven. Don’t forget to heat them up with emotion. Use terms your audience can relate to. Use action words and verbs. Quantify change with ways and time limits. Use one or two word ideas to tell a story. Pledge change. Spark interest. Instead of “How to Write an E-book” the author chose the title “Ten Secrets to Write Your E-book Like a Winner.” She quantified change, sparked interest and branded her title.

Have a meeting of the minds with friends or associates. Let them help you choose the best title from the list. Find out which will make them pull out $15-20 or more to buy your book.

8. Secret Eight.
Leverage Your Sales Potential. Think for a moment about the valuable knowledge that you have packed into your e-book at $20 a sale. Remember the principle “Divide and conquer” Web users love chunks of information. To leverage your sales conquer and divide your e-book into an e-course. With minor revisions, you can set your book up as a how-to course or mini-course. In the e-course format you can double your price and up. Don’t forget to bundle several lower cost e-books and offer a discount. At one of the author’s sites she sells 2 e-books for 20.00 separately, bundled she sells them for $30.00

9. Secret Nine.
Add bonus value to your e-book. When you add bonus value (2-4 how-to lists, articles, special reports, sample chapter or mini-course) at the end of your e-book document, you increase its value. Many (author included) will buy for the bonuses alone. Most people love bargains and valuable free stuff. Everyone is looking for original but useful information. Implement this secret of bonuses and watch your subscriber rate and sales go up.

10. Secret Ten.
Market before, while and after you write. Most writers want to avoid marketing. I overheard a writer saying, “I wrote the book. Why should I have to market it too?” Whine, whine…No really as you know marketing can be hard work. From my marketing friend Judy Cullins there are seven hot selling points that will make it much easier: Put marketing into each chapter title, each chapter’s questions you will answer, rough draft of e-book’s back cover (sales letter), the one-minute tell and sell, targeting your audience, thesis, and table of contents. You can implement these before you write a single chapter.

It’s faster to write an e-book if you know how. People surf the net daily looking for practical information and knowledge that you have. Don’t let your ideas, knowledge and expertise fade away. Put it to work for you in an e-book. Remember, if you need help contact a professional book coach or take an e-course to inform yourself.

Busy! Busy! Busy!

What’s new? And who isn’t busy?

The majority of eBook authors are part-time writers. There are very few professional writers making their living writing non-fiction eBooks. In most cases, the eBook author is a professional with a full-time business or career to run or the author has an interest about which she/he is passionate and is using the eBook as an expression of that passion.

Finding the time to write an eBook among all the other demands made upon you is a difficult task. The process and planning required to complete the eBook authoring process can be managed but the real time you must find for actual writing requires some new attitudes, skills, and knowledge.

The A.S.K. Principle (Attitudes, Skills, Knowledge) is the foundation of all teaching and learning. It is applicable to eBook authoring and finding the time to write your book. As you reflect on the 8 suggested ways to find time to write, consider whether you will require an attitude change, learn new skills, or acquire additional knowledge in order to help you find the time to write.

Attitude changes may be as simple as giving yourself permission to take the time to write. It may require requesting the cooperation of family members to leave you some undisturbed time in a large block once a week to write.

Skills are really the application of knowledge. Simple to complex skills and everything in between can be acquired through experience or instruction. A well organized filing system for researched materials is a skill that requires little effort. Learning how to maximize the word processing software you use to write your eBook requires more effort.

Knowledge is the information we collect via experience and formal instruction. Facts and information is what we generally consider as knowledge. Applied knowledge is wisdom. Consider the knowledge factor in writing eBooks. The use of a Table of Contents is of paramount importance to authoring an eBook. Knowing that the TOC is your blueprint for your eBook frees your mind to pursue other things, including writing.

When you get a good idea taking the 2-3 minutes that it requires to write that idea down will be an invaluable habit resulting in some extraordinary writing. Don’t forget to include some key points that immediately come to mind. You can “flush out” the details of the idea later but it’s essential you write down enough information that you will be able to plug back in to the original thought pattern whenever you get back to it. Never lose a good idea. It may not return to you and a great opportunity may have been missed.

The premise that good writing can only be accomplished while using large blocks of uninterrupted writing time is false. A friend of mine claims he wrote his eBook at Interstate Highway rest stops while traveling on business. His rest breaks become his writing time and a break from driving. It took some organization on his part, but the shortness of his blocks of writing time (10 – 30 minutes at a time) wasn’t an impediment. In fact, he claimed it forced him to get right down to work and forced the ideas to flow without worrying about doing any editing.

You can prove to yourself that writing in short time frames is useful and productive. Select any three words, or have someone else select them for you. Choose a noun, an action verb and an adjective/adverb. Time yourself for 5 minutes writing non-stop, with no corrections or editing, incorporating those three words somewhere in the first few sentences of your writing. You will be amazed by how much you can write in just 5 minutes. You will be amazed at how easily just 3 “trigger” words can generate ideas. You will be amazed at the quality of your writing when the “flow” is flowing! You will prove to yourself how productive just 5 minutes of writing time can be. Try this exercise. It’ll only take 5 minutes.

6 Great Ideas for Finding Time to Write

1. Carry with you at all times key words and phrases from your Table of Contents along with supporting points you want included. Use this barebones outlines to write in the waiting rooms of doctor’s offices or while your wife/husband is shopping or the last 10 minutes of your lunch break or whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Key words and phrases is all you need to get you started writing. It’s all the inspiration you need. Don’t worry about editing. There’s plenty of time for that later. Don’t forget to record any new ideas in the margin of your writing so you don’t lose that next great gem of an idea!

Your Table of Contents flushed out into sub-topics then in to key words is all you need to get you started. You don’t have to carry a lot with you. Just carry one current chapter or topic with you at a time.

Some writers simply use a small black notepad that fits in their pocket or purse that contains the key words they are working on at the time. You can transcribe your writing later.

2. The key to productive writing is to get the ideas flowing and to go with the flow for as long as you possibly can. When the ideas are flowing, it is not the time to be using your best hand writing or the perfect typing skills. Punctuation and sentence structure takes a back seat for the time being. You want ideas on paper or on the computer monitor. Most people will be hand writing their initial notes especially if they are doing it in small snippets of time. Legibility is important so you can understand what you’ve written when you transcribe it. But beautiful handwriting is not an objective. Use as many shortcuts as possible to keep the ideas flowing. Use abbreviations for often repeated words like “t” for teacher. Use acronyms. Record the ideas not actually sentences when good ideas are coming faster than you can write. You can always come back to those ideas at another 5 minute writing interval and expand on it. The beauty of learning how to write in small chunks of time is that you always feel empowered with the progress you make at each writing session.

3. Arrange to exchange babysitting or child watching sessions with someone to allow you to write in a large block of time when it’s your best time to write. At what time of the day or day of the week are you most productive? Where do you get the most inspiration to write? How effectively do you get down to work and what kind of physical environment is most conducive to writing effectively and efficiently? Exchanging child sitting time must be mutually beneficial. Perhaps the person you exchange time with wishes to pursue a hobby or interest that makes the exchange worthwhile. Using this kind of arrangement also removes any guilt and frustration you might have in finding and using large blocks of time. Don’t feel guilty about paying a babysitter in order to write. If writing is important to you; If writing is a passion; If writing is a “re-creational” activity; then give it the importance it deserves and treat yourself to writing time.

4. Prioritizing is a key to successfully reaching your goals in life. Making writing one of your priorities and advertising that as a priority of yours will open up possibilities to write more. Others respect what you value if they value their relationship with you. The Aladdin Factor (Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen) points out that you only get in life what you ask for. If you require time to write and make a point of asking others to help you find that time, you are much more likely to be successful. Bring others on board as teammates. Be ready to give as well as receive in order that others can reach their goals. We get more by giving away more! One simple technique that is very effective is to schedule writing sessions into your planning for the week and do it on a regular basis. Habits are formed through repetition. Many successful and prolific writers say that without scheduling time to write they wouldn’t get much accomplished. You can’t always wait for the right time to write. Using key words and outlines you can begin the writing process quickly and write productively. You train yourself to write when you need to write.

5. Use your time more efficiently by having all the materials you need for writing located in one location so you can just sit down at any time and write. This includes having your materials ready for “on the go” writing. Whenever you end one writing session you should automatically prepare the catalyst material to begin the next writing session. This includes being very specific about the topic and key words to begin writing immediately upon sitting down. You will save 10 to 15 or more minutes per writing session when you prepare in advance. Take 5 minutes to get ready at the end of each writing session to prepare for the next writing session and make better use of the writing time for the next session.

Each of us has a preferred time and place to do our creative writing. Creative writing needs a catalyst as mentioned above. If you prefer to write initially with pen and paper, you can then use your non-creative time to transcribe your written notes to your word processor. Evenings watching sports on television is when I do my keyboarding. It’s a no-brainer time for me. It’s not a time for thinking. Some writers avoid the word processor altogether by having someone else type their notes or by dictating their notes and having them transcribed. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is important and using that knowledge is even more important.

6. Writing breeds more writing. The more writing becomes a habit the more it happens. Research says it takes 21 repetitions to break an old habit and establish a new one. Writing for 5-15 minutes per day for 21 consecutive days should establish writing as a regular habit. So give yourself a reasonable target of 21 repetitions to establish new writing behaviors. That’s just 3 weeks of writing. Imagine how much you will have written at the end of that time. Make a conscious effort, especially when you are first starting out writing material for your eBook, to make writing a habit. Write out your goal of 21 consecutive days of writing for anywhere from 5 – 30 minutes per day. Copy a page of a calendar and post it on the refrigerator so you can stroke off every successful day of writing. Record the total time spent writing and the total number of pages written. Share your goal with those who may be most affected by your chosen activity. Post a written copy of your goal everywhere that will remind you to stay on task. Advertise to those around you how important that this is to you. If you don’t ask for assistance you won’t get it. Have a buddy with whom you can share your progress and one who will help keep you on track if you should falter. Weight-watchers and Alcoholics Anonymous realize the importance of a team of supporters to help reach goals. You need a team as well.

Internet Marketing as we all know it is pretty crowded with funny people making lots of huge bombastic claims over their nonsense crappy books and stuff. You might have come across ebooks making claims like “how to make $XXX in 2 weeks” or “anyone can earn money at home”.

Being guilty of myself, I have literally spent gazillion amount of money into these internet marketing ebooks when I started out but only to find it later at those free-for-all ebooks directories, free membership sites or even those giveaway sites. Though it’s a sad experience to see youself spending money into something which could be downloaded somewhere over the Internet for free, there are still some good ebooks and materials which you should buy. Here are some of the guidelines which you should know of before you start your spending spree.

Don’t Spend Money On Junk
Don’t spend your money on something that tells you that with no experience you can make a lot of money. Typically this stuff is nothing more than trying to sell you pie in the sky. You can always learn and equipped yourself with knowledge from other free ebooks, newsletters or forums before spending your money on these ebooks.

Only Buy From The Experts Who Are Successful Themselves
The most advertised ebooks are not always the best. Good stuff will naturally come to you either by way of constant good reviews from other Internet Marketers, word of mouth, buzz from forums or discussion boards and even testimonials from the actual people who use them. Thus, you should always buy from the recognized experts who have had tons of experience under their belt and also reputable results to back up their claims.

Buy Only On What You Actually Need.
It’s no point to spend your hard earned money on whatever ebooks or internet marketing materials which you come across, however good the claims are on the sales copy. Remember, good sales copy is supposed to play around the prospects’ psychology behaviors into believing their actual claims. That’s why professional copywriters charge tens of thousands for great sales copy because they do bring in lots of sales just by selling hype. You should only spend money on ebooks which could help you move on in your business. For example, if you feel that you are lack in copywriting skills, then you ought to buy copywriting materials from the professionals.

Taking Action Is The Best Action You Can Make.
Let’s face it, how many of us who could spend a bomb in our internet marketing materials but only to find it lying around in our computer hard disk for ages? The fact is, no matter how good or how expensive or even how reputable the ebooks that you’ve bought, it doesn’t matter until you make the first step into implementing the materials which you learn from the ebooks. If you are new to Internet Marketing, then you should only buy ebooks that will teach you step by step in setting up your Internet Marketing business. Otherwise, stay away from them.

Hardcopy VS Intangible Books
There had been discussions going on which debate just how good are those Internet Marketing books found on the bookstores compared to those on the Internet. While I couldn’t agree more on some of the great Internet Marketing books you can find on the bookshelves, but in reality, most of the books I found cover only general concepts of the Internet Marketing. For example, in the business or internet marketing section of the bookstore, you might find stuff like “how to make money online” if you are looking for a book on internet marketing, but you can find a more specific ebook on the internet on “How to Get Successful Reciprocal Linking” or something like that. Both of these are related to Internet Marketing, but the latter tends to be more specific in their scope. Like what I’ve mentioned in the previous point, you should know what you are lack of and buy ebooks that will help you move forward in your business. If you are just starting out, internet marketing books in the bookstore will serve just as good as the newbie ebooks online.

As a conclusion, make sure you know who you can trust online before buying from them. There are lots of these self-proclaim internet Marketing Gurus who are just like the average Joe struggling to make money online. Remember, there are bunch of those great forums and discussion boards which not only you could find great pieces of information, but also the chance to pose questions as well.

How To Prove To Yourself That You Are Going After Your Big Dream.

I have a personal story to share with you that happened not that long ago.

But first.

Realize this once and for all. You have a Big Dream. In fact, Bruce Wilkinson, author of the hugely successful book, “The Dream Giver,” demonstrates that God has given each one of us a dream to go after. The problem is that few of us take the time to understand what our Big Dream is. And even fewer of us take the necessary action on our Big Dream.

Life is Unfulfilling If You Don’t Really Go For It!

How sad! How tragic! Think about it. In my experience, I have seen few people really go after their Big Dream.

Instead, I see people, including friends, hiding themselves from their dream. They live a life of comfort. They get up each morning and follow the same routines, same behavior patterns, same thought processes without really realizing that this life of auto-pilot is really a chain preventing them from truly experiencing life. And many of them create a façade to hide themselves from the pain such as “living for the weekend” mentality.

Life is Too Short To Play It Safe!

When I left my job as a Vice Principal I went through some psychological discomfort. All of a sudden I realized that I no longer had a steady pay check coming in. And neither did Fiona, my wife, as she had left her job as an Occupational Therapist.

I had been so busy replacing my income and Fiona’s income in record time—127 days—I did not have time to reflect on this until I took my kids to school for their first day of school last year.

It Was a Beautiful September Day…

In Canada, kids go back to school the day after Labor Day and as soon as we walked onto the playground my kids were gone as quickly as my friends and I used to run when we went pool hopping in the middle of hot summer nights and we saw lights come on in the backyard (That’s another story!). As my kids were re-aquainting themselves with their friends, I talked with some of the parents who had walked their kids to school.

You Should Have See The Looks On Their Faces When I Told Them This!

Then a few teachers came up to me. They were puzzled and asked me why I was not at school. They couldn’t believe when I told them that not only had I left my job, but also Fiona had too.

Wow, I thought as the bell rang and I watched the children line and enter the school. This was the first time in 14 years that I was not going back to my job.

And Then I experienced “It” For The First Time…

If you have recently left your job to go for your Big Dream, you will understand exactly what I am saying. What I experienced for the first time in my life was the fact that I now really had to show up each day with my game face on. I had to participate actively in the adventure. Sitting on the sidelines was not an option.

Was I excited. You bet! Was I scared? No question!

And Herein Lies The Key To Growth.

You must acknowledge your emotions. I never really acknowledged the emotions that were associated with living my dream until I turned my back on my children’s school that day and began walking home.

This Is How You Know You Are Really Living Your Big Dream…

There are two emotions that you must experience, which will prove that you are really going for your Big Dream. What are they?

Let’s put it this way. When my clients decide to go for it, I always help them acknowledge these two emotions. I ask them the following: “Are you excited?” and “Are you scared?”

If you are really going for it in life, you will be able to answer a definitive “yes” to both of these questions.

Why should you be excited? Because you are about to tap into the new paradigm of possibilities as opposed to limitations. The “I can” mentality and not the infamous “I can’t” self talk. And that is really exciting. Really, really exciting!

Why should you be scared? Because you are now preparing yourself for competition. And who is your foe? Just look in the mirror and see your worthwhile opponent. You are now about to go into battle with yourself. You are now going to have to develop a new belief system, new attitudes and new behaviors that will ensure your success. And you will have to create this, despite years of prior conditioning.

Change makes us uncomfortable. That’s why most people never really get into the game, because it forces us to get dirty. It takes training, discipline, consistency to make our Big Dream happen.

And Realize This Once And For All…

Your business will only grow to the extent that you do.

So looking outward begins with looking inward. In and out. Life is like that. You look outward and see the possibilities. You look inward and feel the fear. In school you learned that a force is a push or a pull. Both are mutually exclusive. And life is just like that. It is about equilibrium. Excitement and fear. Both must be present at anytime to know you are really living your dream. If one is absent you are out of balance.

Life is about balance. And never is this more accurate then when you decide to really go for it in life!

The following review by Colin Edwards appeared in the “Colines
Newsletter”, November 2005, Vol 2, Issue 11:

MEET THE AUTHOR, BUY THE BOOK

Although there are no written rules, I endeavour to keep this
newsletter free of paid adverts, bad language, politics and
religion. At this time of year, when the traditional religious
dimension of the Christmas preparation is not totally buried
under a feeding frenzy of materialism, I can breach the last
rule.

This month’s author has personal faith at the heart of all that
he does. In a moment I shall be introducing you to Dr Charles
Muller as your author of the month.

First though, I want to share a thought that has sometimes
bothered me a little when I write articles about material
success. I had a strict religious upbringing and now, I am glad
that I did, although it sometimes seems to create a potential
conflict of interests. You see, this background, as I understood
it, implies that there is something that is somehow ‘wrong’
about seeking success … and yet I am moved to write about
gaining it.

Charles has resolved the issue for me! He is great at giving
chapter and verse, literally! He also relentlessly pursued
academic degrees, a Rolls Royce and even a wife as a result of
goal setting and creative visualisation. He achieved these goals
without damaging his Christian integrity. He did more — he
actually used it to help him achieve them.

He is the author of many books, but my selection and
recommendation for this month is “Have Anything You Really
Really Want!” It is a slim volume of just over 100 pages and it
is an easy and fascinating read about how he did it. You can buy
your copy from Amazon by clicking on Diadem Books

Yes, it is subtitled ‘A Christian Testimony’, but please don’t
let that put you off. Indeed, it may even attract you! Charles
is certainly no sage on a stage; neither is he a preacher in a
pulpit. He is just a wonderful, down to earth, pragmatic
individual who shares my interest in matters of personal
discovery. I know from first hand experience that he happily
goes the extra mile for his friends and clients with warmth,
positive help and encouragement.

Lest you accuse me of the sort of hidden agenda beloved by
politicians, I openly admit that Charles is now my own
publishing consultant; he is also MD of Diadem Books. That’s how
I discovered his own delightful book and why I know about his
great qualities.

By the way, there is absolutely no conflict of interests between
being a good Christian and following a goal-seeking path. I was
wrong and this book lucidly shows why. Whatever your faith,
denomination or leaning and even if you have none of the
above,… I believe that you will find it a fascinating read.

As a business footnote, you may wonder how I found him. Over a
year ago, I contacted a dozen or so possible firms and
individuals on behalf of a client. Ten sent the material that I
requested and two never bothered to answer. Only one took the
time to send a personal reply instead of a standard package.
That one was Charles Muller. My client decided to go her own
sweet way, but I kept his information on file and later used it.

I do not know if this chain of events was chance, serendipity or
fate. As I have written elsewhere, others come into our lives
when the time is right for our greater good.

Colin Edwards, author of “The Star Process.”

Have you always wanted an unlimited income that you didn’t have
to leave the comfort of your own home for? Have you ever thought
about becoming a writer, and publishing books? Well, many people
have become well-known authors, and have made quite a bit of
money writing books, but it seems that even more are making a
lot more money writing ebooks. Ebooks can be a very valuable
asset. Let me just list a few of the reasons why they have
become so popular. First of all, paper books take what seems an
eternity to get published, not to mention that it costs quite a
bit of money in printing, and postage, and handling, and stuff.
Ebooks do not have a publishing cost, plus ebooks are digital.
They can be emailed to your client directly, or they can
download the ebook from your website, giving them instant
gratification, which everyone loves. They are also digitally
stored, so you don’t have all kinds of books cluttering up your
house. Ebooks also stay there, on the internet, indefinately, if
you will, making money for you, while you sit back, on the
beach, contemplating what you will be writing your next ebook
about. That’s right, you can just relax while your ebook sits on
your website, making you money. Many people are just raking in
the dough from ebooks today. But, you will need to use some
tools (there are links on my website to access these tools) to
make sure that there is enough traffic being directed to your
site. There are all sorts of ways to bring traffic to your site,
like writing articles, (like the one written here), using
autoresponders, and buying mailing lists. My mentors, whom I
have links to on my website, offer many tools and tips for
driving traffic to your site. One tip is to build the customers
trust, by offering plenty of free stuff. Free PDF files are a
hot item to offer for free, because people can pass them around
freely, appealing to more of a mass market. And any computer
with Adobe Reader, (which can be downloaded for free), can read
these types of files. PDF files are also considered valuable to
search engines, thus making it easier for customers to find your
site. There are many other ways to get traffic to your site, and
many other methods of making money online, but writing ebooks is
one of the easiest, and most profitable ways. For more
information, please go to my website, and check out my mentors.
Here’s to your success!
