The method know as three dimensional ultrasound is used in early pregnancy, it can provide 3d pictures of the fetus. Most times these pictures are rapidly captured and combined and animated to make a 4d scan.

Three dimensional scans works in the same manner to the usual ultrasound methods except that the ultrasound scanning pulses can be sent from multiple directions. The ultrasound pulses are redirected back then captured to provide information to construct a 3d picture in much the same way as 3d pictures. 3d ultrasound was devised by olaf ramm and stephen smith.

It’s important to understand that sonologists around the world always conjured 3d pictures of anatomy or pathology in their minds while doing their 2d scans. However, until recently it was very difficult to do this kind of reconstruction on on patient information using ultrasound. With the introduction of ultrasound baby scans for the first time allowed us a peek into the mechanics of thinking of a sonologist and allowing us to reconstruct the images on the ultrasound machine.

3d imaging should utilize ultrasound energy following the same limits as conventional 2d ultrasound to create the 3d images. While there is no information of harm due to 3d ultasound scanning, its use in none medical situations needs to be undertaken with an understanding of the risks that exist.

There are two basic types of tablet treatment, prescribed by
your doctor for acne, the first being one of a range of
antibiotics and the second a hormonal treatment. Which is
prescribed will depend, largely on the specific type of acne you
are suffering from, along with consideration of your previous
medical history and the success of acne treatment to date.

Antibiotics are by far the most common oral treatment for acne,
and usually supplemented by a topical treatment, which may
contain the same antibiotic preparation as is being given in
tablet form. This is thought to be important in order to ensure
that the acne causing bacteria do not become resistant to, two
types of antibiotic. Erythromycin is a common antibiotic used in
treating acne, and is usually the first one used. Sometimes the
specific type of bacteria causing your acne maybe resistant to
this treatment, and may require a different course of action. As
is always the case with antibiotics, it is important to follow
the instructions of the prescribing doctor, in order to maximise
effectiveness, while minimising any side effects or adverse
risks.

The second type of tablet treatment is a hormonal treatment
called Dianette, which contains a drug called co-cyprindiol.
This drug is designed to help decrease the excess oiliness of
the skin, which as we know is a key contributor in the acne
formation process. It is critical that a female taking this drug
does not become pregnant, as the active ingredient can cause
damage to the unborn child. This particular tablet contains
oestrogen which acts as a contraceptive, and is used as such,
when a combined acne treatment and contraceptive is requested.

There are a number of other acne treatments in tablet form, some
of which are only prescribed under the supervision of a
dermatologist. You should never take any form of oral medication
for acne or any other illness, unless under the strict
supervision of a medical expert. This is very true of some of
the more powerful acne drugs, which can have very strong side
effects.

Alzheimer’s disease is an illness that sneaks in and attacks a victim without warning. Once it establishes its foundation it slowly robs the victim of time, energy, function, and perhaps the most precious thing of all, memories.

It seems the old adage, “No one can take this from you,” doesn’t hold true anymore. Alzheimer’s disease starts with mild symptoms, and slowly progresses and interferes with everyday functioning and even impairs simple judgment and movement.

The seven stages of Alzheimer’s disease have been documented in correspondence directly with underlying nerve cell degeneration. The damage to nerve cells began to affect the victim with memory and learning. Nerve cell damage gradually affects every day thinking, judgment, and behavior. Alzheimer’s disease is unique in that it does not manifest itself with the same symptoms in every victim. Many times, a person diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease will not show signs of their illness for years after diagnosis. Survival of victims once diagnosed, can be anywhere from three to twenty years. Medical science has established a Global Deterioration Scale, which corresponds directly with underlying nerve cell damage that takes place with Alzheimer’s disease.

Global Deterioration Scale

Stage One

No signs of impairment. During this stage, individuals will typically show no signs of memory or impairment of judgement. They present no evidence of Alzheimer’s disease to the health care professional.

Stage Two

Mild cognitive impairment. Individuals in this stage will typically present with very mild symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. Symptoms during this stage will typically manifest themselves with short memory lapses, such as forgiving everyday items such as car keys, and television remotes. It is difficult to detect symptoms at this stage for the health care professional.

Stage Three

This is the stage where individuals began to show consistent signs of Alzheimer’s disease to family, and may be easily detected by the health care professional. Detecting Alzheimer’s disease during this stage will usually be noticed by close family members, or the closest of friends of the individual. Common symptoms during this stage may be forgetting simple short passages of reading material, misplacing common everyday items, decrease in ability to organize and plan events, difficulty in remembering names of new people, and not finding the right words during discussions with other people.

Stage Four

Moderate cognitive deficits. This is also called mild or early stage Alzheimer’s disease. During this stage a health care professional will detect deficiencies and knowledge of recent current events, difficulty to perform easy mental arithmetic, decreased ability to plan events such as dinner, decreased memory of personal history, and social withdrawal from close friends.

Stage Five

Moderate to severe cognitive decline. This is also called moderate or main stage Alzheimer’s disease. Memory deficits are much more severe during this stage. The health care provider can usually detect Alzheimer’s disease very easily during this stage. Common symptoms include inability to recall important details in personal life such as address or phone number, counting backwards, difficulty in choosing clothing for the season or current weather conditions, forgetting where common items are placed such as car keys, television remotes, and other items used commonly.

Stage Six

Severe cognitive deficits. This is also called moderate to severe or main stage Alzheimer’s disease. Memory difficulties are worse than stage five. Individuals’ personalities are affected and they may begin to withdraw or manifest severe personality changes or disorders. The health care professional will commonly detect inability to recall current events and events that took place in the last three months, inability to recall personal history, inability to recognize close family members consistently, inability to dress for current weather conditions, and difficulty or inability to perform personal hygiene tasks. The individual may also show signs of wandering, or hallucinating intermittently.

Stage Seven

Very severe cognitive deficits. This is also called severe or late stage Alzheimer’s disease. This is the final stage of Alzheimer’s disease and manifests itself in individuals with inability to respond properly to their environment, inability to speak properly, inability to complete coordinated muscle movements. The health care provider will also commonly detect an individual’s inability to speak clearly, recall current events, recognize close family members consistently, inability or severe difficulty with walking or transferring, and inability to swallow.

The Global Deterioration Scale is a system developed by medical professionals and helps to categorize each individual in a certain stage of this unique disease. Proper diagnosis and determination of which stage an individual may be in is critical to the proper care of the individual. The improvement and rehabilitation of each individual is dependent upon proper diagnosis and placement within the proper stage. Some individuals have been documented to show some level of improvement with proper intervention.

Treatment for Genital Warts
While there are many treatments available for Genital Warts,
it is worth noting that Genital warts are soft growths on the
genitals. It is a sexually trasmitted disease, and one of the more common and
easily transmitted of the STDs… Of the more than 100 types of Genital
Warts
, 30 are sexually transmitted, and you may not even know you have
it….

Other names for this condition include Human papilloma virus (HPV), Venereal warts,
Penile warts, Condylomata acuminata and Condyloma.

The Genital Warts virus can cause warts on the penis, vulva,
urethra, vagina, cervix and around the anus. It is a common condition, though
most people have no symptoms. You can Treat
Genital Warts
naturally and effectively.

It is contagious, and if
you have Genital warts, it is adviseable that you treat the condition
or you risk spreading it to others. You also risk complications, including cervical
cancer.

The Genital Warts Virus grows well in the moist genital area. On the outer genitals, it is easy to recognize them as they are raised and flesh coloured, and can occur singly or in clusters. If left untreated they may quickly grow to take
on a cauliflower like appearance.

In women, Genital Warts can invade the vagina and cervix. These warts are flat and not easily visible. It is important that this condition be diagnosed (via reglar pap smears) and treated because Genital Warts of this kind can lead to cancerous and precancerous changes in the cervix.

If you have both Genital Warts and the Herpes virus together, you are at particular risk for developing cervical cancer.

I recommend a purely natural, Gentle
Treatment for Genital Warts
.

If a door at the top or the bottom of the stairs may be blocked by the rail of the stairlift, there are a number of models designed to overcome this problem. Some manufacturers are able to produce a rail with reduced overhang upstairs, so the lift will not protrude as far into the hallway. This may solve the problem at the top of your stairs and is a very cost effective solution.

If there is a door or passageway at the bottom of the stairs then it is likely that you will need a folding track or hinged rail stairlift. This means that the bottom section of the rail can be folded out of the way when the lift is not being used. This will allow you to gain access to a door that would be blocked by a normal rail and also means that there is no tripping hazard if you have an open hallway downstairs.

The hinged rail option is available from most suppliers but the cost and quality can vary greatly. Seek independent advice and consider if you would be able to fold the rail manually or if you would require powered operation. Most people do need the powered version as the mechanism can be quite heavy. Unfortunately these options will add to the cost of the lift.

The only other option is to stop the rail of the lift short, to prevent it protruding as far into the hallway. This might make getting off the lift dangerous and is not an ideal solution by any means. Again you must seek advice, preferably from an occupational therapist. Also take into account that while you may be able to use the lift this way in the short term you may find it impossible in the future. Some companies may not consider it an option as they feel there is too much risk involved.

As we age, it tends to get harder for us to move around and perform basic tasks because of pain. Something as simple as getting up from a chair may seem like a normal task to a healthy person, but for someone with bad arthritis or limited mobility, getting up from a chair could almost be like climbing Mount Everest.

With a lift chair, the pain associated with getting in and out of a chair is greatly reduced, or even eliminated. This is because the chair does what your muscles and joints would normally do. When getting out of a regular recliner, you use your hips and your abdominal muscles to bring your torso forward. Then you use your leg muscles and your knees to lift yourself out of your chair. Your feet and ankles provide balance as you begin to stand up from the chair.

What a lift chair does is put you in an almost vertical position, so that you don’t have to put as much stress on your knees and joints in order to get out of the chair. With the simple press of a button, your lift chair will slowly push your body forwards and upwards so that you can literally walk right out of your chair.

Lift chair’s work just like a regular reclining chair. However, with the reclining chair, you have to manually put the footrest up, or you have to manually recline it. With the lift chair, you press a button to bring the footrest up, you press a button to recline the chair, and you also press a button to lift the chair so that you can easily get out of it.

For people who suffer from chronic pain, a lift chair can greatly improve their quailty of life.

I have been reading a lot about sounds and the stress-relieving
properties of sound therapies. It “sounds: like we are finally
getting down to our roots and finding natural ways to heal that
were used by our Ancestors.

Since there was not medicine available like we have today, they
used drumbeats, chimes and signing bowls to experience a higher
state of consciousness. As you know from reading Directed
Dreaming, once you enter into the higher conscious (or
subconscious) you are able to find out things that can help you
in everyday life (such as finding answers to important
questions, solving money problems, etc.)

There have been clinical trials performed that suggest that
sound may boost the immune system, trigger our body’s production
of natural painkillers, and relieve stress. Music therapy can be
done by anyone, even if you don’t have a musical ability; it
consists of playing a slow even rhythm (on a drum), or using
cymbals, bells or gongs.

If playing a gong or pounding on drums is just not your style,
and you think it might make you feel (or look) a little silly,
there are fairly normal, natural, things you can get to help you
relax using sound or light, like water fountains, stress free
alarm clocks and aromatherapy that includes soft music.

There is also a really cool computer game that uses biofeedback,
and as you play you go into a deep, relaxed state that empowers
you to create excellent health and wellness, as well as relieve
stress.

Try these things out for yourself, a little music never hurt
anyone!

Hair loss has been observed and studied for ages, and some
interesting discoveries were made in ancient times. It was
noticed that eunuchs:

* those males without genitals-never went bald. * men who were
castrated as a result of accidents in battle also never went bald

This was the first sign that testosterone had something to do
with hair loss. It has also been found that the more recessive
the hair gene, the chances you have of becoming bald.

Androgens Testosterone and Adrenaline

What exactly are androgens? Androgens are sex hormones mainly
produced by males. The main male androgen is testosterone.
Androgens are produced by your adrenal glands - testosterone and
adrenaline - which protect your body in stressful situations and
give you the power to respond to dangerous situations.

When you are under constant stress, you have adrenals that are
overactive. Under this stress, you are are producing both
testosterone and adrenaline. The excess testosterone, you create
can be a cause in your hair loss. Also if you constantly over
eat fatty foods and red meat, this will cause an overactive
adrenal gland.

Hair Loss and Prostate Gland

There is a definite connection between Male Pattern Baldness
(MPB) and the prostate gland. The prostate gland is actually a
cluster of small glands in males surrounding the urethra,
located just below the bladder. There is not a lot known about
all the functions of the prostate, except that it serves to
squeeze seminal fluid into and through the urethra during
ejaculation.

Prostate problems can cause serious problems with urination if
it becomes enlarged, and sometimes the prostate becomes
cancerous. Non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate is called
benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

DHT is responsible for the division of cells in the prostate,
and is normally expelled by the prostate. However, when the
prostate fails to expel the DHT, it builds up and causes
enlargement. It has been confirmed that typical North American
and northern European diets lend to the perpetuation of BPH and
prostate cancer, whereas these are uncommon phenomena in other
lands and was even uncommon here in the past.

This is significant since the overproduction of DHT is
responsible for BPH and prostate cancer, and is also responsible
for MPB or androgenetic alopecia.

The findings in research for BPH cures have usually
simultaneously produced benefits in hair growth.

So to minimize the genetic tendency for hair loss be aware of
excess stress in your life and work on reducing it. Learn what
kind of diet is necessary to keep your prostate healthy.

Two additional facts about hair loss are:

* If you are blond-haired, you have a greater tendency toward
hair loss than darker-haired people. But if you are Caucasian,
then you have a greater tendency toward hair loss than
non-Caucasian people.

* Beyond the genetic tendency of certain people for hair loss,
diet seems to play a factor in hair loss. This is good to know,
since this is one additional you can make changes to you to your
lifestyle.

It may sound hard to believe, but experts say that your
personality can actually cause you stress. To a certain extent,
your personality might have been determined at birth. However,
there are certain characteristics that you might have developed
over the years that are now contributing to your stress level.
While one cannot change his or her personality overnight, it is
certainly possible to change certain habits that may now be
causing you stress.

To begin with, you should ask yourself if you have low
self-esteem. Do you feel as if you are inferior to other people?
Do you constantly berate yourself for your faults? Do you
consider yourself to be the sum total of your mistakes? There is
evidence to suggest that low self-esteem can lead to stressful
situations. The problem is that you may be putting stress on
yourself unnecessarily.

Therefore, what you need to do is to begin to enhance your
self-esteem. This begins by ending the “negative talk” that goes
on inside your head. Instead of focusing on your weaknesses,
form a list of your strengths. You might also want to list all
of your major accomplishments. You might be amazed to discover
just how much you have achieved. Whenever you feel the urge to
downgrade yourself, think of your attributes. This should serve
to end the litany of your failures which you may be repeating to
yourself.

Stress can also be the result of being overburdened. Do you
take on too much? Are you dealing with too much responsibility?
While there are certain responsibilities at home, at work, and
at school that we must carry, at times we may be overextending
ourselves. List your major responsibilities and see if there is
a way for you to whittle down the list. You might be surprised
to learn just how much you have taken on. With a little bit of
planning, you might be able to shift some of your
responsibilities to other members of your household or to your
co-workers. Be sure to talk with your mate and your boss if your
stress level seems out of control. Together, you can work on
strategies to reduce the amount of stress you feel.

Let’s face it. Some of us are control freaks. We feel as if we
need to control every detail within our line of sight. If you
fall into this category, you may be experiencing stress because
of your controlling nature. You may also find that this weakness
is negatively impacting your personal life, causing you to feel
additional stress in your relationships. In order to combat this
tendency, try practicing the old adage, “Let Go and let God (or
your Higher Power). Recognize that there are certain things that
are simply beyond your control. The sooner you recognize this,
the better off you’ll be, and the less stress you will feel.

Another prime cause of stress is fear, especially fear of the
unknown. You may be fearful of making mistakes or of being
judged harshly. In order to counteract this, you must recognize
that everyone commits errors–even major league baseball
players! You must also learn to forgive yourself for your
faults–otherwise, you will be putting yourself under a
tremendous amount of stress. Follow the motto: Do your best and
let nature take care of the rest. Try not to agonize over every
little thing. In addition, learn to get over the guilt of not
being perfect. Otherwise, your stress level is likely to
consistently hit the roof.

You have to realize that recognizing your faults is half the
battle. Once you know what personal foibles you need to work on,
you’ll be in a better position to reduce your stress. Realize
that it took you a long time to develop such personality flaws,
so it might take some time to eliminate them. In other words,
don’t expect to radically change your personality in a week.
However, with the proper amount of diligence, you can alter
those aspects of your personality that are causing you grief.
Once you eliminate these flaws, you should feel more energetic,
less stressed, and better able to take on the world. And you may
just find your blood pressure decreasing as well.

Often times you haven’t even done anything to get buggered eyes. By that I mean you haven’t actually personally damaged them to the point of needing visual aid. If you’re like many you were just born with buggered eyes, and have had to deal with the hassles of glasses or contacts for a time that is too long to remember.

Is it worth it? - The hassle. That is the question that you should be asking yourself. Contacts came and made it more convenient, but what now? Eye surgery! Eye surgery has been around for several years now, and it’s amazing at how many people are still skeptical about it.

What is Lasik Eye Surgery?

Good Question - Glad you asked. Lasik is an acronym that stands for Laser-assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. It’s a procedure in which a laser is used to correct the shape of the eye, an as a result to correct the vision of the patient.

The first form of Lasik surgery was in 1970, when Dr Jose Barraquer, made it possible by developing the first microkeratome. The microkeratome is used to cut thin flaps in the cornea and alter its shape, in a procedure called keratomileusis. Building off the work of DR Barraquer Dr. Lucio Buratto in 1990 & Dr. Ioannis Pallikaris took the technique and made it widely effective and safe.

With the long history that is behind the surgery, there is not a need to be skeptical. I would recommend talking to your eye doctor, to gain more advice on the surgery and to see when and if it’s right for you. Good luck, happy sight!
