Community Update #3 - Let's Get Connected!
Slaywright replied to Lelling's topic in News & Announcements
Hello, a very quick word on the forum theme: Some of you may have noticed the forum's started to crack along the edges, very often telling you the theme is out of date. A lot of this happened just because IPS was updating the forum software and the theme we're using needs updating separately. We're using a few custom modifications for the theme so we couldn't just go and slap a new one on top every time. So now some major cracks showed up we brought it up to date. The calendar is still largely on a 12-hour clock. This need some pretty ancient hacks to get around, because IPS doesn't support a 24-hour clock by default. But working on it. If you spot anything that looks wrong now, do let me know. Yes that is because @Lelling did a silly. But it should be fixed \o/ -

DV Goes Raid: Vale Guardian kill + Gorseval intro
Slaywright posted a calendar event in Retired Categories
untilSpecial event aiming for the introduction to Gorseval, the second boss of the first raid wing. Because of the nature of the encouter, this event has higher requirements than Vale Guardian introductions. Requirements pertaining to the Vale Guardian kill: Requires understanding of both the encounter and your role, as well as familiarity with all the important roles and mechanics of the encounter, regardless of if they involve you. (e.g. the green circles on Vale Guardian) Goal is to kill the boss in question, but this is still not a gritted teeth meta-or-get-out ideal composition situation by any means Loose priority on people with less kills and people who have not yet killed the boss in question that week Baseline equipment: exotic armour and ascended weapons with runes and sigils fit for purpose, ascended trinkets, stats appropriate for your role. A few pieces missing doesn't bar you from joining, but you should actively work to fill in the missing upgrades. The gear requirement and ability to understand the mechanics carry over to Gorseval, and the other guidelines outlined in the information topic related to understanding your profession and generic game mechanics apply. Questions, signups, etc. to @Slaywright or Slaywright.4807 in-game. Additional info: -
untilA Vale Guardian training run for DV folks, and anyone else interested if there's spots left over. Can do an introduction at the start aswell if people need it. Requires basic familiarity with the encounter in question Goal is to simply gain experience at the encounter. Getting a kill is always a bonus, but not the main objective. Priority on less experienced people Baseline equipment: exotic gear with sigils and runes to match your role and preferably weapons, amulet, rings, accessories upgraded to ascended. (In that order of impoftance/ease of acquisition) Sign-ups either to @Slaywright on the forums or to Slaywright.4807 in-game, or watch guild chat around the starting time. More info:

Nice info, but this really doesn't belong where it was originally posted, so I am moving it. And do use a little bit more descriptive titles, please

There is a calendar where guild people can add their missions etc. You can find the details over here: That wasn't me though, Scarlet did that one I do think it's possible the change the time format - which apparently is the forum software's doing and them just not having implemented a setting to change it - but it'd probably have the potential to explode whenever they release an update. Some googling suggests the setting has existed in past versions but for whatever reason it's not in this one.

Unfortunately you can't, but I'm looking into fixing that. While I believe it is fixable it's not quite that easy. It's all PHP's (one of the scripting languages used for making web stuff) fault by the looks of it, as the forum just displays the time the server gives it, which it can only give in that format for whatever reason. The forum admin panel does have an option for changing the date format but nothing for time.

untilTeamSpeak: Required Coordinator: Scarlet Warning: This event happens on the night between Saturday and Sunday! The Three-Headed Great Jungle Wurm terrorizes the jungle! But we're ready to terrorize it back! The Vigil Crusaders are ready and waiting for the armies of Tyrian heroes to march into the Wurm's domain and slay the giant creature. The Triple Trouble event is a fast-paced, high-intensity event where three teams must coordinate their efforts to slay the three heads of the Wurm at the same time. Due to the large number of split-second decisions, TeamSpeak is required. No experience with the event is required, all tactics & mechanics are explained beforehand.

Why are all the female asura smiling and the male ones grumpy? -
I seem to have adopted the verbal concept of "the team is looking into it" and then I just fix stuff by me onesies becuase it's very minor and quick things that just need finding.

Sadly that is a bit far for me to just pop by for a gig But I'll have to keep it in mind if I happen to visit the neighbourhood.

Fair point with the surprise part, I didn't even think of that. Been listening to them so much I just kind of assumed. Oops Ooh, that is awesome! I'm kind of short on options to see any of his stuff live, not sure any's ever come by here as far as I've seen.

AYREON omg _(@_@_) My own introduction was Into the Electric Castle followed by Human Equation, the first one still probably being my favourite with the latter as a very close second. But all are really good. And by the way, everything up to Theory of Everything (which by the way is the most impactful in my experience) is part of the same story Electric Castle is one of the Forever experimenting with people from various eras of Earth's history, Human Equation is another using the device from Universal Migrator to experience the story told by said album. It's all mind bogglingly complex and good The best starting point might be Human Equation, becuase it gives you a really good rundown of Ayreon's style while being easily approachable. At least is my impression. Have to stop before I get started, I could go on for hours @_@ Anyway, welcome to the forums

untilThe Pact is preparing for an assault against Mordremoth's minions! The threat is known, and the target is set. The Vinewrath must be destroyed! The Silverwastes map features a map-wide meta event of capturing forts and holding them while the Pact prepares the assault to the final boss in the zone. The relatively low difficulty & high loot ratios make for a relaxed community event.
